YES. Bench them. It's embarrassing watching lazy *** effort and/or utterly stupid plays by drafted players who think they'll be playing on the NHL in a year or 2. These guys won't make an ECHL roster if they play like this. I still think part of the problem is they feel they are entitled to success instead of earning it. They aren't earning it, they are mailing it in and screwing over their teammates and the fans. Miller specifically needs to sit. He's the worst offender yet he gets the most ice time.

Sounds like Sean Dhooghe needs to be the Captain. His words after Friday rang true.

I think TG's whole NHL factory montra is just creating all sorts of problems.

I think most of these draftees think the name on the back of their jersey will guarantee success. Miller, Caufield, Turcotte, Kalynuk et al will not be playing significant minutes in the nhl next year guaranteed.
Caufield might be a pp specialist but I can se him getting run right over too.

Granato’s job isn’t to coach kids to play in the nhl. It’s to win a national title as often as possible. Forget the nhl.

Alvarez should be ng right now. Get someone that knows hockey to head the search committee. Someone from OUTSIDE the program to head the search. They may give Granato 5 years but if he doesn’t make an FF in year 5 it’s time to move on imo.

His comments in the last few weeks have certainly not been kind to Lebedeff.

There was a quote in the WSJ yesterday that TG said Lebedeff was still the starter. But it's 'Just time" to play Berry. What a circus. Maybe TG just needs to say less ala the MJ way of doing things.

I didn't understand playing Zimmer for Gorniak, I thought he played decently and played with the kind of speed we are looking for. Achan with the first rounders is a bust, they are not producing.

I just stole this from the rodent thread. Another example how the goaltenders are being left to fend for themselves by the horrible UW D zone play. I'd like the coaching staff to see this.

Granato’s job isn’t to coach kids to play in the nhl. It’s to win a national title as often as possible. Forget the nhl.

I think you can do both, but it's not easy. The system that develops and utilizes the high draft picks may not be the same system that works for the other players. But yes, his goal needs to be win here with the guys he has now. Holloway winning the cup in 4 years is great for marketing, but it doesn't do diddly poo for today.

Guessing the staff has access to stats.

Also I don't know what this list actually means. Less than a third of the teams in NCAA have played 14 or more games so those season totals are pretty meaningless. For example Harvard is 4th on this list with only 317, but has allowed almost 53 USATA/gm vs. UW's 45 or so. But that's what you get when poaching the gopher's thread, I suppose.

Likely to be lots of up and down movement by teams in PWR (and KRACH) as more games get played. Doesn't usually start to come into focus until 2/3 of the season or so.

That’s the thing, why are they playing a 4th liner with 1st line players? That’s DUMB!

The top 6 are Holloway, Turcotte, Caufield, Pelton-Byce, Weissbach And Lindmark. Mix and match however but 4th liners have no business playing on the top 2 lines.

The whole enterprise seems like a dumpster fire. What’s the plan?

Re nhl vs NCAA championships, I don’t Badger Bob or Jerry York or Scott Sandelin gave/give 2 ****s about The Show, so Granato needs to follow suit or get out of NCAA coaching.

Caufield practicing with Holloway and Caufield this week. Like to see all three of them get untracked and put up some B1G points.

Maybe Turc would shoot more and stop looking for Cole all the time if they separate them. Turcotte can score as good as anyone. I like it.

They're not going the basic fundamental stuff consistantly. Not putting their bodies in the way to help the team. You have to block shots. Minnesota did a great job blocking shots this past weekend. They had less talent and speed than the Badgers... but they did what they needed to do to get 4 points.

He should say less. He spent that past year touting this freshman class.... putting their live pictures on the big screen last year during a game?? Really? Talking about how this is the year. There was social media galore posts about these guys coming in. I have never seen or heard a college coach in any sport do that. Nick Saban didn't. Urban Meyer. Paul Chryst. Tom Izzo. None of those guys did that. It freaking basically tells the team and the incoming guys that they are gonna come in and walk on water and save the day. And the team doesn't have to do the dirty work in the corners or play as a team. I mean in hindsight that whole bravado talk crap was plain stupid.

Last week the team motto was "We gotta get on a run here to end the first half of the season and win 4 or 5 out of the next 6". Um no. You gotta win the next game. That's it. Win the next shift. What succesful coach at ANY level coaches his players like that? These players are kids and if they are worried about having to win a game 2 weeks from now against Michigan State or who ever and not concentrating on what they need to do now then they are probably gonna lose.

Granatos whole approach is messed up. Dude needs to eat some humble pie and yes, stop talkkng. He's got one of the most talented rosters in the country and he's screwing it up.
