Wisconsin Badgers 2015-2016

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2015-2016

Line-ups released. Not only are Badgers down Rolfes, looks like Channell is out as well. Gardner paired with Ryan and Burke paired with Drake. With that said, all 4 forward lines are intact.

Can't go the game, but more disappointed that the radio feed is a no-go. Kind of defeats the purpose of the whole thing.

On the positive side, Twitter is telling me that Shaver scored to put the Badgers up 1-0.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2015-2016

Twitter is telling that it's Badgers 1-0 after 1 and hold a 28-3 SOG advantage. Radio issues are now fixed and good to go.

Badgers up 4-1 after two and outshooting Lindenwood 42-9. Let's just finish it out with everyone remaining healthy.

If you ever find the radio not working for a home game, just tweet at me (@nicolehaase) - I'm usually sitting next to the radio person and they really have no way of knowing that the broadcast isn't working unless someone notifies them. Dan definitely did PBP for the whole first period, so its unfortunate no one heard it!

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2015-2016

At my first ever game with my oldest daughter today and having a great time.

She keeps telling me how much more she is enjoying this more than the men's game, but that might be because they got beat last night.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2015-2016

Time to start tracking Megan Miller's shutout streak... 160-plus minutes, and counting

:-)

I'm glad you enjoyed it, but the crowd was small and rather flat energy-wise.

The Badgers were disjointed early in the first period with a lot of icings.

I have no idea why "I love to review" Langley reviewed the first goal, made so sense. I don't think Langely knows what a penalty looks like. I had never seen Hanrahan call a game before. Not a fan of their inconsistencies. I do not want Langley or Ducy calling the rodent/Badger series.

I twittered at Andy Baggot and he confirmed Channel and Rolfes are hurt, but when I asked about time frames for their returns he clammed up. I did see them sitting on the bench during warm-ups without any sort of leg braces or arm slings or limps when they are walking around on the bench. If Johnson would follow Eaves' or any other coach's lead, I would not have to resort being an private investigator.

Miller had a great kick save early in the first period. She looked very good.

Or, you could just decide to enjoy watching hockey without feeling entitled to other people's medical information.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2015-2016

Another good weekend of hockey for the Badgers. I love the balance in scoring the team showed on Friday as all 4 lines had a hand in the goals.. Sunday's game was a bit choppy with all the penalties- especially in the first period.. One concern I have is with the power play.. they were 1 for 9 on the weekend.. Against a team like Lindenwood the PP should have been 5 or 6 for nine! There are a few PP players that haven't been doing much over the last 4-5 games and I wonder if the coaching staff is taking notice.. The special teams MUST be playing at a high level when Minnesota comes to town in two weeks. It will be interesting to see if changes are made and the power play gets a bit of a different look with another player or 2 added this weekend vs. Dartmouth..We will see!

I don't know if that is true; statistically, Lindenwood has a stronger PK than Minnesota does.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2015-2016

The Badgers power play was 0 for 5 yesterday against the Lindenwood back up goaltender.. Hey I am a big UW fan and I think this team could be special this season.. I just think that with the depth and talent that this line up has the coaching staff can and should have made some in game adjustments yesterday.. Maybe give one or two other players a shot on the PP when it's not working - that's all..Not complaining, just an observation!

I get what you're saying. The Lindenwood backup has a higher save percentage than its starter, and we know she's good. Goaltending isn't the reason why Lindenwood is a lower-ranked team.

I do understand that the Badgers PP could be better, but it is still converting a quarter of the time. Most teams would take that, although admittedly, Wisconsin isn't just any average team.

It certainly does not help the pp that Rolfes and Channel are hurt. I know Rolfes was on the #1 pp unit, I do believe Channel was also on the PP, just not sure if it's the #1 or #2 unit. I just hope they are healthy for the rodent series.

I was very impressed with Lindenwood's goalie yesterday.

I went back to listen to make sure I heard correctly, the play by play guy for the Badger stream of the game yesterday said that Rolfes and Channel are out with head injuries. I hope less serious than more for both of them.

That's BAD. What a bummer for them. Mark Johnson's a little short on depth @ D. One more injury and they are down to 4.

It's sad for the Badgers, it is horrible for the women. I hope the injuries are insignificant and there are no long-term issues.

It seems to me that the concussion rate for female hockey players is very high compared to the men. If I look at UW men vs women alone, over the last 4 years I can count 4 women who have been concussed and zero men. It doesn't make any sense when you take into consideration hitting is not allowed in the women's game.

The positive out of seeing them at the rink is that at least they are physically able get out and about (especially after reading what Ammerman went through). Maybe it's just a coincidence, but Rolfes was on her smart phone and Channel was not, though Rolfes was showing Channel things on her phone. I don't know if reading those small screens is a no no when dealing with a concussion.
