Wisconsin Badgers 2015-2016

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2015-2016

If you commit a penalty it is you who decided the outcome not the ref who called it.

Totally agree, all penalties should be called at all times irregardless of the score or the time left in the game. Penalties are a part of the game, just be consistent and snuff out all the chippy crap.

I'm very interested in the game today. I think UW's depth wore Dartmouth down and with a 3 pm game, it's going to magnify the depth advantage. I'm also interested in what the crowd size will be with the rodent badger fb game being at 2:30.

I had the pleasure of taking a hockey first timer to the game last night, a friend of my son's friend who is taking with my son's his friend over the short break. He is from Washington (St). I think the great crowd and entertaining game accounted for the sport well. I have another hockey virgin going to the Friday rodent tilt. It's gonna be a wild game.

Cool fact Dartmouth must have been founded in 1769 according to the patch on their shoulder, their college is older than the United Sates. Pretty cool.

Going to my first UW women's hockey game since the 3OT winner against Harvard in the playoffs. I was looking at tickets, are they just you buy them and sit wherever (says general admission)? I've never been to LaBahn Arena so I have no idea how it works.

All seats are general admission, first come first served. They also have quite a few standing room spots. Only time it's reserved seating is for a NCAA quarterfinal game. Watch out for parking though. Main lot just south of the train tracks was charging $10 last night which was the first time I ever remember paid parking for a regular season game at night. I balked and found free off street parking a few blocks away.

You will also see the proper way to permanently hang championship banners.

Pretty much the standard now for all University controlled lots surrounding Ridder and Mariucci arenas. Ridiculous that the parking costs more than a ticket to the women's games. Still well worth it, though, when you add the two together.

I told the kid working the lot (not that it's his fault) that parking is 5 times the price of the game ticket (with the Black Friday discount). They haven't been charging in lots all year. Seemed kind of random to start doing it 15 games into the season.

Thanks for the info! As for parking, I've got a spot that I've used for men's games that doesn't charge.

Excellent.

Parking.....That jerk was there Saturday as well charging 10 bucks. He had slid south 1 driveway. He stopped me and I said do I have to pay to park at Panera's? He said no, so I parked over there, walked across the rr tracks and entered Labahn from the east. Next weekend I am entering from the south on the Fedex end of the lot.

Bradshaw.....was markedly better Saturday, though he still had a couple "what the" moments. During warm ups we was standing by the UW bench and Johnson went over had had a rather adamant 1 way conversation with him.

The game.....utter domination by UW. Even though it was 0-0 after 1, UW was peppering Chemago so thoroughly there was no way she was going to give up less than 2. Dartmouth defense of UW's zone entry was very poor compared to the wcha teams I've seen play. UW had tons of grade A chances. Good to see the pp get going, 2 goals were tips and the other 2 were Nurse snipes.

I think it did UW some good to play a little more loose opponent before the rodents, the rodents are more like Dartmouth than they are Bemidji. UW will be challenged more in their D zone this weekend than the whole season combined, it will be interesting to see how they react to the pressure. Perhaps the same will be for the rodents. They will need to be aggressive in the D zone, I still can see Brandt waltzing in from the boards and shooting. I am sure hopeful Rolfes will play this weekend, love to see UW @ full strength against the rodents.

Almost seemed like a rouge parking situation. Once I saw them charging again at that location, I went over just to check Lot 91 by Kohl Center. I assumed they would be charging there also and was pleasantly surprised it was free. So I'm just heading there next weekend.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2015-2016

Badgers seemed to find another gear on Saturday. Were much more dominant with puck control and only the play of Chemago and the help of the crossbar prevented a complete blowout. Not sure Dartmouth had more than one or two quality scoring chances all game.

Considering the game took place during the Badger football game, it was nice to see another big crowd. Not quite a sellout, but the announced crowd of 2,000 seemed about right, not really inflated.

UW's website says you have to have any sort of UW permit to park in this lot. "After 4:30 p.m. and all day Saturday and Sunday display ANY valid UW annual base lot, flex, park & ride permit or pay at the meter."

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2015-2016

My wife and I made the trip down this past weekend for both the Dartmouth games. Lots of fun and the crowds were great at both games! Had a chance to meet Baylee Wellhausens dad.. Really nice guy. I love the way Baylee plays the game. She may not always get on the scoresheet but, that kid brings it every shift! She plays much bigger than her size! Overall the team looks like they are clicking at all phases! I can't wait to see the games this weekend!

There was literally a sign at Lot 91 that said free parking for women's hockey only. Historically this lot has been free (no permit required) for all women's games that aren't on Friday mid-afternoon. Since LaBahn went up, I had been parking in the lot just south of the tracks which also had been free up until this weekend.

Cool, I may try lot 91 then. Thanks for the tip.

Good, grief, the UW ticket office is a pain to deal with. I'm hoping that they learn how to send an email sometime in the next few years.

They do have their issues, buying online easy, but they charge you all sorts of extra fees then.

I tried to buy them as print my own, but never got the email with them. I called the ticket office, they said they'd try again, and I never got them. I called the ticket office, and they suggested just picking them up at Will Call. I had to jump through a couple of hoops since I won't be the one picking them up. They said they'd send a confirmation email. I never got it. I called them to try to get a written confirmation. They said they'd send it. Two days later, I hadn't gotten it. I called again today, and they finally managed to get it to me about three hours after I called.

Did you tell them you were calling from Minnesota? :D
