Great way to start the season for the Badgers. Got the two wins, got to start both Miller and Walters and shift Drake and Johnson to defense. Even with the vaunted freshman class coming in, 7 of the 11 goals were from upperclassmen which is great to see. With that said, Pankowski did assist on the last 4 goals on Saturday.
With 5 players coming back, it'll be interesting to see what the lines will be. There are no lack of options up front and could easily roll 4 full lines if they want. Not sure what the status of Rolfes is, but if she is back then they seemingly have a full corps of D to choose from. Been a couple of years since they've has this kind of depth. Only downside is that some decent players are going to have to be healthy scratches. Guess that's a decent problem to have.

When looking at the game stats it was great to see the upper classmen lead the way. I agree with Badger Booster that this team could roll 4 lines which would really benefit the team down the stretch. The two freshmen forwards that did play (Pankowski and Wellhausen) seemed to fit right in. Pankowski with 4 assists in game 2 and though Wellhausen had no points on the weekend she was second on the team with 10 shots on goal so both skaters were involved in the play pretty consistantly. Lauren Williams was also in the line up on defense. Coach Johnson definitely has some tools to work with throughout this team!

I was pretty surprised Pankowski and Wellhausen didn't get a goal between them, but insert them into lines with the better players who are coming back and we'll see them light the lamp against the dawgs. It was great to see the 4A for Pankowski and the 10 sog for Wellhausen.
I am very happy for Walters. I felt bad for her when ARD last year and Miller this year show up and relegate her to 3rd string each year, so to see her face 19 shots and get the s/o is just great for her. Maybe she's not the 3rd stringer this year? Hopefully we don't have to find out.
Next project is to figure out if there's any video available for the dawg series. I supposed on the UW gameday page they'll list it here if there is any.

I've been looking for that also, Minnesota goes up there the following weekend. Doesn't look promising so far. They've got women's volleyball video on the schedule, but not the women's hockey games for Wisc or MN. I hope something turns up!

I assume you're referring to the College Sports Live platform but I'm not sure -- if so, BC's games traditionally get put up pretty late too (they aren't up yet for our first game on Saturday, or any games for that matter) but they get put up eventually.

The Gameday page says there is video on America One. America One (or UMD site) still doesn't have it on their schedule, but probably Gameday knows something.

Not that I doubted the validity of the poster who mentioned it before, but Audrey Warner is officially now a Harvard recruit. Had previously been committed to Wisconsin.

I see in the WCHA release it mentions Pankowski with 4 assists. I see the box scores from USCHO for this past weekend's games show no points on Friday and 3 assists on Saturday. The USCHO stats also show 3 assists. Why the discrepancy?

USCHO is probably wrong. Collegehockeystats shows her with 4 assists on Saturday.
