Who is in your Deadpool for Solo: Infinity War

Bohemian Rhapsody. Fantastic. I was already familiar with the story (I've been a fanboy since my friend came home with News Of The World and we listened to it nearly a dozen times straight that night) but I wasn't any less interested otherwise. The portrayal of the band was spot on (I couldn't stop thinking I was looking at the real Brian May the whole freaking movie) and the actors they chose for Freddie, Roger and John were also excellently chosen.

When they finally got to the Live Aid concert my wife and I both had happy tears (she might be even a bigger fan than I) and I wonder if we had watched it in a theater in the US if the crowd would have been more animated as if they were at a real concert. Both of the boys were also thoroughly pleased as they've become fans of after having the music played in the house since they were born.

There is a LOT of music so if you're not a fan not sure I would recommend it even though the story is good but not extraordinary. But the music the MUSIC made me smile the whole time.

Cover recording for the movie or the original tracks?

From what I know the singing is mostly Freddie originals, some of Malek and some from an imitator.

By the way let me reiterate that the story itself is somewhat bland and cliched (and there's about a handful of inaccuracies) but I loved the music so it was worth a viewing in the theater to me.

That is basically 100% of the reviews I've seen and heard (pro critics and friends). I do want to see it, but will probably skip seeing it on first run, at least. I can't say I'm a fanboy of Queen/Freddie, but I do think he is at least Top 3 frontmen of all time, if not #1.

Paterno - too nice to joe. Didn’t make him out to be the level of chitbag that he was

American animals - didn’t get the name. Not really animals, unless sloth is one. Lazy uninspired guys with an uninspired story.

Equalizer 2 - loved the tv, and love Denzel in this role. Not sure the hurricane was needed, but ok.

Bohemian Rhapsody...meh. Parts of it are great and other parts are boring or even lazy. Malek as Mercury is amazing...but honestly you might be better off watching a documentary and then the Live Aid concert.

It needed better editing all over the place.

Was waiting for this, to compare to Slap's review. Netflix it is. Thanks, guys!

I wanted to like it...but honestly it had no point. And it jumps around endlessly skipping five years at a time and kind of meandering.

The music is great...but you can watch their concerts and hear them cause it is all their stuff.

Ending on Live Aid was a waste to. (As was having them do the whole concert which reeked of trying to fill time) Queen performed for years after that (including epic shows at Wembley they could have recreated) and put out albums. Such an odd choice to end it like they did.

Re: Who is in your Deadpool for Solo: Infinity War

When things were changing before it was released, it just seemed like it would be a Behind The Music: Extended. And that's what it sounds like it ended up.

If there is one thing a Queen movie should not be is it shouldn't be boring. Half this film is boring. Not only that but the band never feels like a band and it is just so sanitized.

The death knell for most any awesome band's story.

A Star is Born was great. Could have done without that 23 minutes of previews though, amc

I may be in the minority, but I love the previews for movies. I may end up not interested in the movie overall, but it's part of the experience. The flat-out ads, though...burn in hell.

I like some, but the movie was long and I really had to pee but didn’t want to miss any of the movie. The previews just add a lot of time to a long movie

I agree with this completely. I love previews - even on DVDs (tcbg likes to power through them...I tell him to make the popcorn while I watch the previews). Haven't gone to the movies in awhile (saw Crazy Rich Asians in the theater). Waiting for something to motivate me to make the effort.

I'm annoyed, but not surprised to hear about the Queen movie.

Yeah agreed on both counts. AMCs preview count is nuts. I have the A List pass so I have seen every preview now more times than I can count. Although I am never in a rush now cause AMC always has at least 15 minutes of previews.

DVDs I'll skip 'em. It's not quite the same. I know it's weird.

I think the last movie I saw in theaters was The Last Jedi. I was debating about the Queen movie, but after all the reviews, from critics and folks on here/etc, I can wait.
