Re: What the Fark 3: The Strange and Unusual

Has anyone ever actually seen an April Fools Day attempt at satire that was the least bit funny or original?

There has to have been one once, but man the attempts I've seen over the years have been lame.

I've heard of some amazing pranks, but never any satire piece that was clever.

I received an email this year from a brewing supply company saying there was a new law being considered limiting the amount you can legally home brew...with discounts on all their 5 gallon kits. It gave me a chuckle.

I love that underpass, and I love their updates. The fact that they've caught 105 trucks smashing into this thing on camera just shows how stupid people are. I can't wait to see trucks continue to slam into this thing after the traffic light goes live.

I remember stumbling onto the site and realizing with a shock that I used to drive under it all the time when I lived in Chapel Hill. That whole rail line has underpasses like that all along it. There's another one made famous at the end of Bull Durham when Crash goes off driving to Asheville (which makes no sense geographically but OK) after leaving Annie an apple.

There was a similar underpass in my hometown, which was fixed by depressing the road. Then there was a flash flood which pooled the water and somebody tried to drive through it and drowned himself.

We are funny monkeys with funny monkey brains.

The entertainment, commercial fashion and cosmetics industries function by promoting an impossible goal that causes women to sink into depression and buy their useless crap.

Is this somehow news to some of you?

If you are into sado-masochism, google "Ernie Els seven putt" and watch the video.

If you golf, do not do that search.

I'm pretty sure this is the Mad Libs version of the script of a hundred 50s monster movies.
