Didn't read the article, but it HAS been reported that the current owner did NOT ask for the plates. He bought the vehicle from another person who got the plates. Now, why he hasn't changed the plates...I dunno. Unless he's in the process of that when the story broke.

But that area of MN...nothing will surprise me.

Re: What the Fark 3: The Strange and Unusual

I volunteer at a cat rescue shelter. This morning, my volunteer supervisor and I showed up and found a box outside the door. It was taped shut, and there were weird noises coming from inside the box. We bring the box inside, peel the tape off, and lo and behold, there was a CHICKEN inside the box. So my boss contacted her fellow board members, and we scrambled to find another place for this chicken. Thankfully, Foghorn Leghorn got a new home.

How did anyone mistake us for a chicken shelter?
They probably were just looking for some place to dump the chicken. It might have been a problem child in the flock, or it might have been the lone survivor of a predator attack. Chickens are social animals and don't do well alone. Last but not least, it might have been a rooster and a lot of the rules regarding Urban chickens ban roosters because of their crowing noise. Nevermind the fact that the same neighbor who would complain about the noise of a rooster crowing probably has a loud yappy dog that's just about as loud.

Urban chicken farming is actually becoming a huge thing right now among the hipster types.

That said, should have taken what's behind Curtain #1 :D

Yeah, I had one regular who had been asking a lot of questions about chickens because her neighbor got some last summer. Now I think she's thinking about getting her own urban flock.

Guess they were not snapping turtles.

@WTOP: Canadian man caught smuggling 40 turtles in his pants fined $3,500 Canadian and placed on probation http://bit.ly/21uw7qg

I just don't get it. At all.

A Swedish teenager rescued from the Islamic State said she had never heard of the militant group known as ISIS before running away with her boyfriend to join the extremists at their base in Iraq.

After she was freed by Kurdish special forces, the teenager, Marilyn Nevalainen, told the Kurdish television station K24 in Erbil, Iraq, that she “didn’t know what ISIS means, or Islam” until her boyfriend suggested in 2014 that they leave Sweden to join the group.

“First we were good together, but then he started to look at ISIS videos,” Ms. Nevalainen, 16, said in the interview. “He said he wanted to go to ISIS and I said no problem.”

Burger King has started selling hot dogs within the last week. It's caused current chains, be they fast food or convenience store chains, to start ad campaigns aimed at BK's new challenge. While I'm not looking to ever have a hot dog from these places, their war of words have been pretty amusing. One chain even started the Twitter hash tag #WienerSmackdown. Right there, that's gold!

Re: What the Fark 3: The Strange and Unusual

If you're one to ever eat at a ff joint would their serving of a hot dog (relative to your overall craving one) really be that much less desirable than a burger? ;)

I don't generally eat at these places anymore. The only thing I'm getting out of this is enjoying the jabs everyone's taking at BK.

Re: What the Fark 3: The Strange and Unusual

It's even funnier since a BK is rarely more than a mile away from a local hot dog place here in the Chicago area.... It's like getting Dominoes Pizza in NYC or Taco Bell in San Diego...

Re: What the Fark 3: The Strange and Unusual

So how was your day? Mrs. P's Volvo gets hit by a horse trailer while it's parked at her office. We have to wait more than an hour for the tow truck, so we go pick up the rental and then go to dinner. Halfway through our meal and a family sits in the next booth -- the kid screams at about 100 Db through the rest of our meal.

We leave the diner, get in my Volvo at the parking spot on the road, and then watch as a woman backs into my front bumper while she's trying to parallel park.

We go sit by the S60 and ten minutes after the tow was supposed to be there, we find out it's going to be another hour because it's on a run 35 miles from us.:mad:

Where the heck is the smiley for a volcanic eruption???

You need an XC90. There are so few of them they're hard to hit.

Re: What the Fark 3: The Strange and Unusual

There's fewer of my C30's. Her S60 is a dime a dozen ;)

C30 is the little hatchback, right? If I'm thinking of the right car, that's a sweet little ride. It would be better in AWD, but still looks fun to drive.

Re: What the Fark 3: The Strange and Unusual

Funny that I have two boys 11 and 12 that would like nothing more than to Rick Role anyone in their path. That they're both Top 2 in their respective classes in school makes it all the more puzzling.
