What if every team made the tournament?

Re: What if every team made the tournament?

UPDATE!
At the end of two, Wisconsin has a 2-1 lead over Boston College in Worcester.
In St. Paul, Minnesota has extended their lead to 3-1 with the 3rd just about to start.
Miami is now up 4-1 early in the third in Bridgeport.
In Green Bay, Maine has a 2-1 lead over Michigan with 20 minutes left to play.

The Results are in, and we have our Frozen Four!

In Worcester, BC scored early in the third period to tie the game at 2-2, and followed that up with a goal with about 5 minutes left to take a 3-2 lead that the Eagles held on to to advance to the Frozen Four.

In St. Paul, the Western Michigan Broncos stormed past Minnesota, scoring 5 unanswered goals, 4 in the third period, to win 5-3, and advance to Tampa.

In Bridgeport, Miami held on to their 4-1 lead for the victory, and a trip to the Frozen Four.

In Green Bay, Michigan scored with just under 5 minutes left in the third to tie the game at 2, and the game went into overtime. The first OT saw no scoring, but the Black Bears scored midway through double overtime to punch their ticket to the Frozen Four.

Congratulations Boston College, Western Michigan, Miami, and Maine on making the Fictitious Frozen Four.

Tomorrow's action:
#1 Boston College vs. #13 Western Michigan
#5 Miami vs. #10 Maine

Has everything really become so extreme these days? I have nothing against homosexuals at all; I merely want them to keep their preferences to themselves and not make a big public production about it. If every heterosexual went around shouting to the world, "hey, I got laid last night, aren't I wonderful?" you might very well find that annoying too, would that make you a heterophobe?

There's a lot of middle ground.
Wow.

I'm going to end my part in this discussion by saying that calling something gay because you don't like it is hate speech. The end. I'm sorry for hijacking this otherwise awesome thread.

That's interesting that all 4 FF teams are actual NCAA tourny teams. Not shocking given that the better teams will win more often than not... but interesting nonetheless.

Re: What if every team made the tournament?

I'm not really sure exactly what kind of simulator/predictor they are using.

I don't know if this is a true story or if it is just apocryphal....supposedly several years ago a grade school student submitted a nearly perfect men's 64-team NCAA bracket. When asked how he did it, he said he imagined a battle between the school mascots and picked which one would win. A Jayhawk could peck out a Husky's eyes before the Husky could snatch the Jayhawk with its teeth, but a Wildcat would catch the Jayhawk with its claws, etc. etc. I guess Washington didn't play UConn that year. ;)

And I guess if the Univesity of California Santa Cruz Banana Slugs made the tournament, they were eliminated in the first round.;)

Not too surprising. The simulator uses KRACH as one of the main components, and all four teams that made the Fictitious Frozen Four are in the top 8 of KRACH.

#1 - BC
#4 - Miami
#7 - Western Michigan
#8 - Maine

So the simulator is a hot tub. A hot tub time machine. Set to 'mid-90s' from the looks of it.

Re: What if every team made the tournament?

I heard the Sioux had to forfeit this fictitious tournament because the NCAA committee discovered Danny Kristo was wearing a fighting Sioux toe ring when he was playing. Is this true?

Uh oh... did the Sioux host the first couple rounds? That's not allowed...

Re: What if every team made the tournament?

Slightly off subject but pertain to Fighting Sioux. The grand list about to make it's appearance soon? Are you inputting data for the teams already out of the hunt?

Re: What if every team made the tournament?

I have all the data entered through last weekend. Just the NCAA Tournament games, All-American Teams, and Hobey Baker Winner are left to enter for this season.

EXCELLENT! Do you factor in the scores of games as well or just W/L/T?

Re: What if every team made the tournament?

#1 - BC
#4 - Miami
#7 - Western Michigan
#8 - Maine

This is close to my actual prediction. I picked BC, Miami, Western Michigan, and Michigan. Funny since I often pick Michigan to get beat in the regionals. The one year I don't, the simulation says I should've.

If you picked all 4 that's pretty impressive

But we'll done a good read, be interested to see the formula
