It's almost the same script. National title contender, ranked #1 for parts of the season, lost in the Final Five and stumbled into the playoffs - Gopher fan hoped they could turn it on, two seed, lose in OT 3-2 to a 15 seed.

The only difference is that there was no partisan crowd willing on the opponent this time, so absolutely no excuse.


For about the 20th time this year, the Gophers came out flat and tried to turn it on late. Was only a matter of time before this would bite them when it counts.

They were a dominant team when they were in gear.

Its almost exactly the same. Although I think Yale is a much better team than Holy Cross was and the Gophers in 06 were a much better team than this squad.

This season was a complete waste for the Gophers. There was only ever one goal and that goal wasn't even close to being accomplished.

Yep, they were focused on their goal, but the second half of the season clearly shows they didn't have the faintest clue how such a goal is accomplished.

Congrats to Yale for the earned win. They deserved it.

This one stings, thankfully I came home to the family instead of to an empty house.

The sad thing is that Yale got beat by Holy Cross this year, and if it wasn't for Lucia's sons Notre Dame team, they would have been home today, how ironic.

We saw this coming down university ave all season long. Inconsistent play, thinking they could just turn it on and win. very disapointed.
