West Regional: Minnesota vs Yale

Re: West Regional: Minnesota vs Yale

Where are the people in attendance ?

I was there. Most amazing nine seconds... EVER. Unfolded pretty much right in front of me, and I along with most of the Yalies around me were totally going nuts. I think the Minnesota fans were too shocked to believe it.
Ran in to Jeff Malcolm's dad after the game... didn't know it was him until he introduced himself. Beyond gracious, just a complete pleasure to be able to share the moment.

Re: West Regional: Minnesota vs Yale

Make that 3. Same as the ECAC.

Alright, while I'm totally on the ship of making Gopher fans feel bad, don't try and fallacy this into thinking that the leagues are the same. If the regular season didn't matter, they would start the season in March and just have a tourney style free-for-all. You make it a best of 5 series, and there isn't an ECAC team that beats any of the teams in the top half of the WCHA. They aren't comparable conferences. That's why they give automatic qualifiers. Yale played a one game and done game against a much better opponent and won. Consider it an anomaly and be happy for what it is.

Bull****!!! The WCHA is 7-9-1 against the ECAC this year and basically only want to play home games against them. Nice showing today. Barely got a win and that was against an Atlantic hockey team. Self proclaimed superleague! Mediocre at best.

Re: West Regional: Minnesota vs Yale

The WCHA is clearly the worst conference that ever existed. Why anyone tries to argue this, I really have no clue.

Haha, way to pull an ad hoc. Taking an individual situation and applying it to an entire body of framework. It is comparable to the Heat 27-game run this year. If you have to put out your all every single time you play, eventually you are going to wear down. The WCHA is a grind each and every weekend, regardless of who you play. The worst team in the conference was UAA, and they would have been middle of the pack or better in every other conference this year. I'm sure the WCHA teams would love to only have to try half their season, and float through the other half against weak opponents, but that doesn't get to happen. Like I said, turn the tourney into a best out of 5 series, and the WCHA has at least two, if not three teams in the Frozen Four. Granted, none of it will matter next year, but quit acting like they're comparable things, because it's apples and oranges. Always has been.

So the WCHA teams were so tired from the conference schedule they can't compete in the NCAA's? Maybe that conference can stay together and they can rename it the ECHA.

Not an individual situation but if you want more, how come the superleague was also under .500 against Hockey East and the CCHA this year? Don't give me that garbage about how you wear down with those Bemidji St, UAA and UNO series either. Numbers don't lie. Only in your fans minds is the WCHA that powerful this year. Its sure not based on results.

Results like having half of the conference in the tourney?

Yup and when you get 80% of your non conference games at home and nothing in the formula accounts for that, this is what you get. BU and Providence sitting home and over inflated PWR's for WCHA teams getting the crap kicked out of them! Guess this is the last year we need to worry about it. Many more non-league games should even things out going forward.

Congratulations. Every single thing you said here is absolutely wrong.

The WCHA has some of the best teams in the country. Trust me, that will still be true if you allow yourself to accept the fact that the other conferences - including the ECAC - have excellent teams as well.

Re: West Regional: Minnesota vs Yale

Oh, rpi fan... this explains the massive butt-hurt.

Where was RPI mentioned....... that explains the massive d-bag posting ! Just the facts buddy. WCHA getting their asses handed to them in their last sorry year! Hope it continues today! Oh I know, 2 of your 3 juggernauts today are also underdogs so it will be no surprise to you if they lose.

Where are all of these WCHA fans that were supposedly beating their chests about being a superconference? St cloud and mankato are juggernauts? You certainly seem to have your finger on the pulse of college hockey. You need no more than a mirror to find the d-bag poster.
