West Regional: Minnesota vs Yale

Re: West Regional: Minnesota vs Yale

Great standard to live by: "If you would have won, you would have been boorish and arrogant, so I'm going to be boorish and arrogant."

As long as we're clear about that.

Right. Minnesota fans haven't been boorish and arrogant for...oh, the last 10 years or so. I guess tArrogance is just a figment of everyone's imagination.

I'm as happy as anyone with yesterday's result, but the ha ha trolling is best left for low post noobs. Don't you think?

Alright, while I'm totally on the ship of making Gopher fans feel bad, don't try and fallacy this into thinking that the leagues are the same. If the regular season didn't matter, they would start the season in March and just have a tourney style free-for-all. You make it a best of 5 series, and there isn't an ECAC team that beats any of the teams in the top half of the WCHA. They aren't comparable conferences. That's why they give automatic qualifiers. Yale played a one game and done game against a much better opponent and won. Consider it an anomaly and be happy for what it is.

I had no intention of making Gopher fans feel bad. The Gopher fans in Grand Rapids were gracious and I have nothing against them. Same for the North Dakota fans, though the North Dakota fans were surprisingly quiet the whole weekend.

However, I think we can now officially dispense with the notion that "there isn't an ECAC team that beats any of the teams in the top half of the WCHA." That's bull****. Moronic. In the extreme. Yale is now 4-0 against the WCHA this year, all on the road. And make no mistake about it, for the last 40 minutes of today's game Yale was the better team on the ice.

So, NO, I'm not "happy for what is is." Yale EARNED a trip to the frozen four. Maybe they will win there, maybe not. But they flat-out EARNED that trip. It was no "anomaly."

Re: West Regional: Minnesota vs Yale

I was talking with a good friend, a Whioux fan no less, and we both agreed:

Trash talk all you want pre-game.
Trash talk all you want during the game.
When the game is said and done, be good sports, whether you win OR lose.

Tired of the people who take joy in another team losing, especially when YOUR team isn't the one who beat them. And no, I was not cheering for Yale today. I didn't really care who won.
