WCHA vs tRest

Re: WCHA vs tRest

What would constitute a legitimate timeframe? Present day to the year HE came into existence?

sure. if you thought the whole cumulative argument wasnt stupid to begin with you would think that would at least be the starting point you would use to make a true comparison (not that it hasnt already been done before anyway). since teams switch conferences, and some conferences come and go. and some teams have played for almost 100 years, while some are new. longevity doesnt necessarily equal present day strength

regardless, to randomly go back 8 years is just silly, misleading, and arbitrary. that is like saying that since wcha is 0 for 4 and hockey east is 3 for 3, they are zomg so much more dominant. (not to mention, the "facts" presented stating 5 out of 8 is just not even correct - since BC, BU, BC, MSU are the last 4 champions)

Re: WCHA vs tRest

UAA's all time record versus the mighty B.C. is 3-1-1 ...

Just sayin ...

Against Brown ... 2-0-1 ...

Re: WCHA vs tRest

I'm sorry if this is too late. But whenever I think of Brown I think of this:

Hoover: And the lowest grade in the class ...
Ralph: She's going to say my name!
Hover: Lisa Simpson, zero!
Skinner: Lisa, the president of Harvard would like to see you.
Pres.: Nasty business, that zero. Naturally, Harvard's doors are now closed to you, but I'll pass your file along to ... Brown.
Skinner: Mmmm, Brown. Heckuva school. Weren't you at Brown, Otto?
Otto: Yup. Almost got tenure, too.
Lisa: [gasps in horror] No, not Brown, Brown..
-end dream-
Lisa: ...Brown, Brown..
Miss Hoover: Lisa, you're saying Brown an awful lot, are you okay?

Re: WCHA vs tRest

You did a good job of catching the play on words with successive posts there, Champ. You keep trying, though.

This is the first time I've seen the word "champ" associated with anyone related to St. Cloud in any way. Congrats and take a bow.

Re: WCHA vs tRest

You'd have to look at an entire conference to talk about the overall outcome of a season for a team. If BC is playing against lesser teams all season, chances are they probably aren't going to be as worn down at the end of the year. Now, if you're playing in the WCHA (this is hypothetical, I don't really care which conference is better, and I'm pretty sure siouxinseattle or whatever didn't create it to start a shouting match) and the last ranked team in your conference is as good as the 4th ranked team in the Hockey East, you may be more apt to have injuries, fatigue, etc. to deal with at the end of the year. So yeah, I think you have to run through EVERY team in a conference to really get a sense of which conference is better.

So basically, this is a way to justify the WCHA being superior no matter how much their teams fall on their face come March and April?

Win= Obvious
Lose= Michigan Tech wore us out three weeks ago in the WCHA first round.

Tech sucks and would probably get killed by Merrimack, but on the other hand they could probably handle Western Michigan.

So yeah that's pretty right.

Re: WCHA vs tRest

I'd hope so. We've had 11 years of non-coaching.

What's your excuse?

We suck, we don't need an excuse.

But if I had to give one, I'll go with we have to play all the rest of the teams in the WCHA, which definitely does not make life very easy.
