WCHA vs tRest

Re: WCHA vs tRest

Too obtuse to you realize you are wrong, unfortunately. Good luck with your future career in telemarketing.

Again with the educations quips. For being so educated, you sure aren't very creative.

But if you want to be serious instead of having this awesomely amusing argument, the WCHA has the best conference and HE has the best team.

He's a Brown man, it's not like he can rely upon one of the good Ivies for his education.

Re: WCHA vs tRest

Oh, and for the record. I'd rather be a fan of a "dog team" from a real University than an annual overrated team (this year again) from a "school" such as UND that is on par academically with an average New England public high school.

Your priorities are out of whack.
That, and you haven't figured out yet that your Brown education will get you about as far as a degree from MSU-Mankato in the real world. :)
But hey, nice work overpaying for your degree. It sure will be fun repaying your student loans for another 42 years. ;)

An Ivy League team beat North Dakota last spring to the end their season, champ.

And what did that get them?

It got them the same parting gift UND gets every year in the NCAAs: a beatdown by Boston College.

It also got them closer to the Frozen Four than the mighty Fighting Sewage got. Not bad for a school that has a degree worth more than the paper its printed on.

Re: WCHA vs tRest

I'm pretty sure all degrees aren't worth anything. You can't go out and sell your degree.

It's neat that the person who thinks his education makes him superior is the same person who has resort to calling other schools names.

How did that work out for BC in 2000? What about 2005, when UND was sent out East for their regional and managed to beatdown BU and BC on consecutive nights? :p

One whole game closer to the F4. Oooh, impressive. ;)
Brown must print their degrees on that really thin carbon copy paper. Then I can see your point. :)

Maybe that's what Onion Man had to do...we don't know.
After all, with his Brown degree combined with his 10-cent personality, I'm sure any potential jobs that he interviewed for went to the guy with the Univ of British Columbia degree or the girl with the South Dakota State degree. :D

Re: WCHA vs tRest

Has nothing to do with any school. You want to bash the east, show some evidence. The East owns college hockey right now. You guys want to have a WCHA circle jag, go for it. Just add some facts to your babble.

Facts? Ok.

I posted this on GPL on 2/16/2010. Forgive me if the numbers are not completely up to date.

Using end of year KRACH ratings:

Code:
AHA 6	6	6	6	6	6	6	6
CCHA 2	3	3	3	2	3	3	3
CHA 5	5	5	5	5	5	5	5
ECAC 4	4	4	4	4	4	4	4
HEA 3	1	2	2	3	2	2	2
WCHA 1	2	1	1	1	1	1	1

Those are the year-to-year averages across all teams from 2002-2008

The raw numbers:
Code:
          2002 2003 2004 2005 2006 2007 2008 Overall
AHA 53.00	53.89	52.33	53.33	50.11	53.80	53.10	52.82
CCHA 19.83	24.25	24.33	24.92	18.33	25.08	25.67	23.20
CHA 40.25	41.75	43.50	42.00	41.40	40.60	44.00	41.94
ECAC 36.25	32.00	33.25	32.42	32.08	30.67	33.08	32.82
HEA 22.40	16.10	20.30	20.70	27.10	23.60	20.60	21.54
WCHA 12.20	17.50	12.30	12.60	17.70	12.40	10.80	13.64

It's not even close. Sorry.

Furthermore...

The WCHA has won 5 of the last 8 Frozen Fours (most)
The WCHA has won the FF with 3 different teams since 2002 (most)
The WCHA has sent 37.5% of all teams to the FFs since 2002 (tied w/ HEA for most)
The WCHA has sent 6 different teams to the Frozen Four (most)

But wait, there's more...

Interconference Records Against the "Big 4" since 2001-2002
Code:
AHA 0.1920
CCHA	0.4887
CHA 0.3394
ECAC	0.3886
HEA 0.5757
WCHA	0.6157

Take a look at the 2010 olympians:
WCHA 12
CCHA 6
HEA 2
ECAC 1

All but one of those WCHA members were in the league from 2000-2006

Additionally, 5 members of the WCHA were on the 2006 roster.

/end original post.

That being said, BC has completely owned the WCHA since something like the 05/06 year.

With all the education-based insults you're hurling to the west, I must ask the following: what do you do for a living, how much does it pay, and how much did your education cost?

It looks like the only thing you've gained from your experience at Brown is a misguided belief that you are superior to anyone who attended a non-Ivy school.

Re: WCHA vs tRest

Heh heh.

So the last game of the weekend is in the books, and the score is tWCHA 13, tRest 2 and 5 ties. Next week has 10 games - continue the fun!

Re: WCHA vs tRest

Wow, that came out of some drugged crazed brain. Better go back on the Prozac, or something.

My WCHA team just won two games against some Eastern team, and Minnesota has played Brown 6 times in their history and their overall record is 6-0-0. Do you think a single team in the WCHA has a losing record against Brown?

Re: WCHA vs tRest

The best part about Minnesota beating UMass, it should really help with the PWR later in the season. The record vs. common opponents will be very good as it stands right now.

Re: WCHA vs tRest

You guys are getting excited about beating UMass, really? UMass sucks. Hasn't Minnesota missed the NCAAs two years in a row?

The best teams in college hockey are from Boston until proven otherwise by actual results when it matters, not WCHA circle jerks in October on USCHO. If I were a North Dakota fan I'd be wary of making fun of Ivy League teams. How soon you forget... Yale gave BC a tougher fight than Wisconsin did.
