Yeah but what did it matter really? We scored 1 goal and the bottom line is that's been our problem all year. Unless we blow up it's over tonight sorry to say. Your TV guys are lulz. Holy cow I apologize for them. The broadcasting crew is A+
announcing is D--- I realize they're paid to be homers but certainly they can come up with better stuff than that.

Gopher fans want to hear mindless homer calls which is why those two clowns still have jobs... their idiotic banter is easy for the gopher fan's mushy little brains to absorb. :D

I can't believe I'm responding to a bit, but UAA had 7 PPs to 2, your announcers are homers that your fans gobble up (not to mention Goon's blog) and I'm willing to bet 90% of Gophers fans I know would love FSN to dump Gorg and/or LaPants.

I have yet to see a team of announcers that are dedicated to a college hockey team and and superior to Gorg and LaPanta. Is there room for improvement, sure, but they are still better than anything else out there.

I also don't understand why fans of other teams spend so much time complaining about the Gopher broadcast. Why not just watch your broadcast? Oh yeah...

EDIT: I am a fan of having homers in the broadcast crew for college sports. Having a homer of an opposing team does not bother me. I used to like having that BADger guy (I forget his name) join the Gopher crew during the BADger series.

Not really. Pat Sweeney is a schmuck who many UND fans would be happy if he was dumped.

I just enjoy that they all hated Frank and Doug. And now they hate Lapanta and Gorg.

Heck, they could put ScoobyDoo and Slap Shot in the booth and they'd hate us too.

Scooby: This loss in the fourth week of the season really did us in. This team is completely screwed.

there were some penalties taken that were definately earned (budish hitting goalie, holl's interference, ambroz late hit), but for every correct call, they would blow another. i felt like the blatant trip on rau right in front of the ref wasnt called because his reputation as an instigator, ironically right after the phantom budish "trip" when his stick didnt even touch the guy and it was called by a ref 150 feet away. the refs were terrible. but what else is new. alaska has a right to complain about the second goal- but at the same time alaska is lucky they didnt get called for 2 or 3 more penalties than they did

But yeah ... to be clear, LaPanta is the very definition of bland talking head (i.e... he's nothing but face and voice ... an empty-headed bimbo). And Gorg's constant faux build-up/precognitions ... "they're about to take over this game" (i.e... his hopeful creaming in his own jeans) are tiresome.

Some were just picking on Doug and Rug, like yourself. But, the vast majority of complainers hated the pair.

Anchorage had five billion powerplays in that game, so it's not like they weren't given an opportunity to capitalize.

gorg and lapanta do a fine job. theyre 10x better than the bush league production and crew nodak has. straight out of the 80s there and as homer as it gets. watching that crew is somewhere in between entertainingly painful and an embarrassment to a supposed premier hockey program.

I like homers so that doesn't bother me. I just find them beyond boring. They have an exciting (even if thuggish) team and they put me to sleep. Must be why Whioux fans troll other team's threads... :)

you are one of the mushy-brained gopher fans I was talking about... 10X better? Supposed premier program? Don't forget that people watch NoDak play all over the US through directTV and that if 7 NC$$ titles makes us "supposed", what does that make the goofs? gorg and lapanta are clowns and they do not make bigger homers. But again, that is what most goofer fans crave...
