This week...

They Who Shall Not Be Named were scared off by some white stuff in the Luke The Laker match-up. Is that 3 games they decided not to play so far this year?

UW at Purple Cows - Cows nearly swept They Who Shall Not Be Named. UW may have a goalie injury. I don't want to see another Mankato Meltdown.
Tame dogs at wild dogs - Tame gets all the bones.
Rodents at Tommies - Tommies almost pulled land cow level of upsets of their own, twice! They are running the ranked gauntlet better than I had thought.

They Who Shall Not Be Named drops to 4th in the league if all higher ranked teams win. That'd be something!!!
 
The rodents were the only team of the big 3 that took care of business. UW did a great job of making Kato look like a top 5 team in the country in game 1, but escaped with a win. They were outshot 23 24! Are u kidding me??!?!?!? Kato better put that box score in the trophy case as I am 1000% that has never happened before nor will it happen again. Game 2 the shots were 36-10 and order was restored. UMD gets pulled into a shootout in game 1 and was trailing 1-0 heading into the 3rd period of game 2 with St. Cloud. The results have put They Who Shall Not Be Named into 4th place. That is something. Someone do a wellness check on Sierra please.

To finish out the first half of the season, BSU travels to MSU. MSU needs a sweep to nip right on the heels of St. Cloud. BSU with a sweep can jump tTommies and MSU.

Wut Up! Are you going to the Wrigley Field tilt? I think the black uni's, as much as I hate them, will look good if it's snowing out. I hope UW does some red/red deal as I read here they will be sporting a new 3rd jersey for that game.

Now I wonder what ever happened to that super crabby guy who was a rodent ran. His name escapes me. He's been missing a few years now.

Makes sense, though I'm surprised he didn't come up with another persona and join back in. It would drive me crazy if I was banned because there is no other outlet to discuss this mega niche sport I love so much.

When I first started attending games, it was so strange that once I left the arena, nobody that I came into contact with until the next game even knew that the sport existed. As the years go by, coming into contact with people who have ties to women's hockey is at least slightly more common.

Yes. It’s still weird for me how most of the kids I coach seem to know about the existence of the PWHL. It’s great, it just feels like worlds colliding.

Pokechecker was erratic in his postings. Some were good, some were not.

An all timer that is apropos for this thread. Some years back now OSU went on the road for NCAAs, perhaps their first year there. They played BC either for the first time or it was a rare occurrence. OSU beat BC 2-0 (I think) and pokechecker dropped a simple “Welcome to the WCHA” in the BC thread.

Accurate at the time and prescient as the dominance has somehow increased in the years since, not just OSU but the revival of UMD.

Forgot about that post by pokechecker but it was true that he had his bad moments (mostly) and some good as well. Also reminded of the undefeated bc team that met up with the tunnelers in the championchip game who ruined that for them. Another feather in the WCHA's cap.

Nah. That particular post was actually one of his more civil. He claimed to be a gophs fan, but he was mostly against everyone and everything.
