WCHA 21-22 Season

A full slate of compelling match-ups this weekend, how fun! Numbers are league standings.

MN at WI 3 vs 2
OSU at UMD 1 vs 4
BSU at St. Cloud 7 vs 5
St. T at MSU 5 v 7

With sweeps, the Saintly teams can distance themselves from the 7-8 spots, with sweeps the State teams can make the battle for 5-8 a real donnybrook. WI and OSU can bury the MN teams with sweeps and make it a 2 horse race.

best WCHA weekend this year! I'm excited to see how the league games unfold after watching the league perform so well against outside competition..

I just hope with Ohio State's jinx at Duluth being broken last season that it STAYS broken!

Even a blind gopher gets a nut occasionally (Watts do they really eat anyway?), in regards to Watts happened last year at Duluth. I wouldn't mind a trip back to reality on this one for OSU.

What we did to them in the playoffs last season is a reality I can live with. I still chuckle at the comments of stunned disbelief that were on forum after that game!

- WI breaks out the brooms
- OSU sweeps (I’m sure Muzz has been Jonesin’ for a sweep in Duluth)
- If Frank’s not in goal, UST sweeps. If she is, MSU sweeps.
- The Beavers finally get a WCHA sweep!

After much consideration, I'm going to say NO regular time sweeps this weekend, maybe a couple wins in OT that one maybe could call sweeps.

Not sure at all, I think Saint Cloud is better than Bemidji. And I think Mankato is better than St. Thomas, at least for now.

I think UMD is somewhat overrated based on an undeserved but nonetheless very impressive NCAA tournament appearance LAST season. OSU probably can win up there. When Wisconsin went there earlier they got only 5 of the 6 points available on the weekend. Expecting OSU to do better is thinking OSU is better than Wisconsin and I do not think that. Yet I believe it is possible and half expect an OSU full sweep.

I see that even Timothy A has come out expecting something less than a full sweep by Wisconsin over Minnesota. If the Gophers can somehow get some goaltending equal to or exceeding what their opponents get then they have a shot at meeting Tim's expectations. Unfortunately for the Gophers they have almost never achieved that level of netminder proficiency at any point so far in the season. The coaching staff's choices for the two games last week in Nashville signaled to me and probably to the team that the coaches really do not know who their top goaltender is. They are willing to just keep playing next one up hoping that somebody will eventually seize the job.

I hate it. I hate it.

Without knowing who will play I think that one of them will in fact make a move to seize the job. One of them will steal a point.

But mostly Wisconsin.

I have the upmost respect for UM even their some of their posters are down on them this year and on the program in general. That LONG stretch of WI losing to them almost every time has left a permanent mark on my brain. SUPER stoked to see the game tonight. This series and the assumed ncaa round 1 game are the 3 games every year I look the most forward to.

Of course I prop up the Yuckeyes and they have come out and crapped the bed, so far, against UMD. Down 3-0 after 1 period tonight.

Any soft goals and those first three?
The third one wasn't great. The first was a friendly bounce to an open player, the second was a greasy goal where she didn't control the rebound on the initial shot. The third was a semi break where she didn't get her five hole closed.

I think Minnesota should be up 2-0. On the replay it looked like that puck just snuck in the far corner. Called no goal. Still 1-0 Minnesota

I don't recognize this Gopher team...
