WCHA 21-22 Season

Pleasantly surprised by how well Minnesota played this weekend.
Even #5 played well! Good thing we don't win series from Wisco' too often, or we'd soon run out of scapegoats.

Favorite moment: Watts coming off the bench to celebrate a shootout winner ... that wasn't. Nice job, Brownie.

#5 passed the puck...I was stunned. Passed it to Emily Zumwinkle who did a nice impression of her sister with a major league wrist shot.

It was a slapshot shootout goal by the Sinners which you don't see to often...

Pretty good prediction! Only MSU kept you from being perfect.

I think the bottom 4 are evenly matched from Watts I have seen with my eyeballs in the UW games, the top 3 are and UMD I'm not so sure of as I have not seem them play UW yet.

UMD/UM this weekend will be telling. If UMD wants to make a play for the top of the wcha and look at add to their ncaa resume, they need a sweep. And UM is looking to cement their top 3 spot.

UW at BSU - UW looking to bounce back from one of the worst weekends pointswise in the history of the program against a over-matched yet tough to beat BSU, UW sweeps.
St. Cloud at MSU - A chance for MSU to gap the other 3 a bit in the race for 5th. MSU has let me down before, so MSU gets most of the points.
UMD at UM - UM looking to bounce back from allowing UW to get a point off them last weekend, UMD coming off I would say a kind of impressive split with OSU. Can UM handle success? Are they for real or will they revert back? UM sweeps.
Tommies vs Lindie's - Tommies sweep and uphold the glory of the wcha.

- I see a UW sweep but hope for the Beavs to put up a fight and force one game into OT.
- If Frank is in goal, MSU sweeps SC with one of the wins being in a shootout.
- Gophers & Bulldogs split. Both wins in regulation.
- Tommies split with Lindenwood.

Well, UW and Kato took care to business. The Tommiettes lose in OT to the Woodsters after a furious 3 goals in 3 minutes 3rd period comeback and MN doesn't like success apparently. A win today by UMD would make a huge statement for them.

UW and Kato complete the sweeps, UMD can't sweep the b16 teams, they are relegated to 4th place but will make it into the expanded ncaa tourney at this rate. The Tommies let the wcha down bigtime and get swept by the Woodsters.

One series this weekend, a scintillating battle of state colleges has Mankato at Bemidji. Bemidji looks to stay in the fight to play UMD in the playoffs while Mankato looks to bury them for the right to play the Dawgettes.

After this weekend we can look at the first half being done, though it is a bummer that 4 teams will have played 16 games and 4 will have played 14, so annoying for analysis sake.

Beavers with a come from behind win, 3 - 2 over the Mavericks.

MSU and BSU tie with MSU winning the shootout to get the extra point. MSU could not consolidate their position in the standings.

Off until New Years weekend now.

I'd just like to wish all the WCHA posters (and others who check out the tread) a very joyous and blessed Christmas.

I just watched the 2nd MSU/BSU game. Beavers very lucky to come away with a point here. Mankato definitely the better looking team.
BTW since I use snow tires in the winter, my tread is good. I just checked it last week. :)
