WCHA 2023-2024 Calamity Or Calmness?

Someone working the USCHO scoreboard shorted us a 1 on our score showing it as 0-1 instead of 0-11, lol!

They were showing it as 8 minutes into the first period until after the game was over. Never, ever count on the USCHO scoreboard being even vaguely up to speed. It's terrible.

I really, really miss collegehockeystats.net.

She actually did play one period before getting hurt, then was out the rest of the way.

She suited up for Team USA vs Canada in the collegiate selects series. She won silver with U18 in 2022.

Neither of which was the senior national team, which is what I asked. If we're counting U18 and Collegiate selects, then Wisconsin was missing THREE national team members since Kirsten Simms was on Collegiate Selects and Kirsten Simms and Claire Enright were on the 2022 U18 squad.

It's perfectly legitimate to just say "you play the team in front of you, we took 5 of 6 points and if you have questions look at the standings for the answers" but saying "well, actually missing a junior nationals player for 2/3rds of the series is exactly like missing the borderline Senior World Championships MVP for the entire series so we were even" is laughable.

And while we're at it, on "Keep dissing our players. Thanks for the BB material. We'll make sure the Muzzinator sees this one Buddy! (laugh emoji):" If Muzerall cares one iota what the two dozen blowhards who make up the posts on this comically tone-deaf corner of the dumpster fire that is the internet say, that's just straight up sad.

Now, now. Let's discuss this calmly over a cup of chamomile tea and just relax. This is a game that we are talking about, isn't it?

You must not be aware KK won the Bob Allen USA player of the year in May of this year. Peschel is a very nice player. If she was on WI, I'd love it. She's just not the same player KK is. I've never seen a player like KK before.

Even so one player doesn't make a team and our depth is better than your depth.

Thoughts from my basement...KK is a very very special player. (Best in the country) I look forward to KK having a strong recovery. WI will not be the same in February. Hopefully OSU will be stronger as well. The WCHA has talent everywhere and as a fan it's just awesome to see. Go Gophers only today. GO Tommies. GO Minn St. UMD keep putting Colgate to sleep. Buckeyes go faster... a lot of hockey still to be played.

Fair enough.

I think with perfectly healthy rosters Wisconsin has the edge in d and Tosu has the edge in f. On paper you have a lot more experience in G as well, not sure that translates to being deeper.

WCHA was 7-1-1 during turkey week, the only loss was the Tommies losing to the EZAC team Cornel. I guess ya gotta throw a dog a bone once and awhile.

St Cloud at Tosu. Tosu sweeps with their cheater dinky rink but game 2 will be tighter.
Tommies home n home with Kato. Splitsville
UMD at UW. UMD on par with the EZAC and makes UW fans sweat out a couple games but Udub should get all the points.
BSU at MN. MN scores 10 or more total goals than BSU on the weekend.

You have picked the tunnelers before to do stuff and it hasn't come to fruition...

I think under Idalski, SCSU matches up better against the top WCHA teams on the road than on the big ice at home. Easier to turn it into a grinding game. As for Game 2 being closer, probably not after today.

Been impressed with what the landcows have been doing lately putting quite a few pucks in the net. 7-1 over the tommie bahamas tonight.

slOwSU experienced a trap game tonight, losing 2-1 to the slims that has happened to the tunnelers and sinners in the past.

A very astute observation.

I don't disagree with this, but the box score suggests that tonight was just one of those games. OSU outshot the Huskies 47-17, and, while the live stats with the attempted shots seems to have vanished, I recall that this was even more lopsided. Both SCSU goals came on the power play in the second period, and within their first eight shots. It doesn't really look like St Cloud matched up well with the Buckeyes at all, except in the goaltending department.

Looks like the rodents are on the way to making me look smart, a hard thing to do.

Kato woodshedded the Tommy's, shocking.

Looking way far ahead, I think avoiding having st cloud on the same side of the bracket as your team is will be crucial come ncaa time.
