UVM 2018-19: This is so sad Alex play Esposito

Re: UVM 2018-19: This is so sad Alex play Esposito

Missed the Friday night game and saw the Saturday night game. Saturday was fun. Nice puck movement through the neutral zone and did a good job not giving Robinson a good look at the shots.

Sounds like the defense was tentative and a little lacking in intensity Friday night.

Re: UVM 2018-19: This is so sad Alex play Esposito

that Sat gm might be on NESN+ vs NESN as Bruins on as well that night .. but i know the gms will be streamed in HD for free, Fri as well.

Link for Fri gm: https://portal.stretchinternet.com/northeastern/portal.htm?eventId=453991&streamType=video[/QUOTE

Good to know, most teams charge for streaming.

...and i stand corrected re the tv for Saturday. You were right all along. The UVM-NU gm is indeed on NESN tomorrow (versus NESN+). Since the Bruins are on the West coast, NESN is picking up both gms.. will be broadcasting the Bruins-LA Kings gm after the college broadcast.

Good effort bad outcome...
Very good effort, a game we definitely could have won. Although the team was god awful at times early in the season, particularly in league play, I have to say they’re not nearly as bad as I thought, at times actually appearing to be totally legit. Think they still have issues on defense, issues with putting the puck in the net, and doing all the little things it takes to win close games like last night. Also not the bast game by Lekkas, but he’s entitled to an off night. We’ll see if they can bounce back tonight. Go Cats.

UVM CAT: agreed but allow me to add that the coach himself can and should start contributing with a little more courage and a lot more creativity. I for one feel certain that the sum of this team's talent can be greater than what it is right now.

Re: UVM 2018-19: This is so sad Alex play Esposito

don't keep saying good effort in losses for a 10th place team that saw playoff hopes go down drain! might get some ideas in Schulmans head that he should give another effort extension to Sneddon !

Re: UVM 2018-19: This is so sad Alex play Esposito

i'm back baby

For someone who should lose his job Sneddon is talking to the media as if he's under no pressure at all and is still getting recruits to commit (Stalbergs cousin). I'm going to guess the new excuse to keep him is the facility update so he can now "compete."

Re: UVM 2018-19: This is so sad Alex play Esposito

UVM has shown little over the past 5 years that indicates any intention to build the program. The school clearly is moving towards supporting Basketball with their new facility. Everyone knows Sneddon has run his course here at the school, move on.

Re: UVM 2018-19: This is so sad Alex play Esposito

Hoping the next few weeks are positive. (regardless of Sneddon...or in spite of?)
Especially for the Seniors who have put in good effort amid a bad situation. Those three guys have seen it all from top 10 rankings to bottom 10 rankings nationwide (and half their recruiting class leave/get cut)!
It would also help send the Juniors off with some hope since they are the nucleus of the team for next year. Especially Lekkas!

Go Cats!

Re: UVM 2018-19: This is so sad Alex play Esposito

t eh 'good effort' losses are wins to this team and the man in charge now will not make playoffs does not matter teflon sneddy will get his new deal I fear! RESULTS MATTER and there are NONE! moral victory are for losers . patehtic!

Re: UVM 2018-19: This is so sad Alex play Esposito

From another viewpoint, the boys battled, goalie was frickin brilliant again, and the loss was due to the season position / time of year situation. At another time of the year, this could have been a last second win, 0-0 tie, or a heartbreaking loss. Taken in a vacuum of one night, it was entertaining hockey, some exciting play, and a great display of competition. Yes, totally sucks to lose a 0-1 game in OT on an empty net. But, that was the situation based on so many early season losses.

Yes players playing hard but losses are losses and record is what it says you are and the record belong to the head coach who has done too much losing ! talking in the vacuum is total irrelvant right now because nobody needs a game in a vacuum people know what they have seen for years and these years are not in a vaccum and every now and then you will get effor and that is all well and good i am happy team not totally quit and does play but frankly they are not good enough the coach not good enough the program is in shambled. heard from text messaging of a friend there that the place was barely full and just dead that nobody cares anymore people who still suckers that held to tickets instead of smart to get rid of them just going through motion same with students!! NOBODY cares and nobody will care that there was great effort in a LOSS and another 9th place finish!

Totally respect your passion and understand your point. Imagine I was not clear in my earlier post. I understand the big picture views on the season, program, personnel, and the long term outlook. What I was attempting to say is that tonight, I am not ****ed about the team I saw on the ice. Tonight, I do not view this a "good effort loss." Granted, we have FARRRR too many "good effort losses" these past two years. I simply did not see the loss tonight as being anything other than a direct result of the circumstance caused by earlier losses.

I don't feel I saw my team lose on the ice tonight. In fact, I thought they looked a lot like an NCAA hockey team - not always the case this year - certainly rare last season. I am hopeful we finish with continued efforts like this and hope some offense will develop from within and new forwards coming. We have a good chance at a defined goalie and a more experienced D core next year - stay #34! A goal or two from offense can help a team like this a lot.

Just a fan you know. Let's go tomorrow. Go Cats!

You can teach defense. You can’t teach offense. Too many grinders that don’t have the skill to score. Still not sure how much of that is the system, how much is bad evaluation of recruits, how much is just getting outrecruited for goal scorers. I’m assuming Sneddon stays for the next year of his contract, after that it will be interesting to see what Schulman does. Fans are definitely getting restless, I assume he senses that.
