UVM 2018-19: This is so sad Alex play Esposito

Re: UVM 2018-19: This is so sad Alex play Esposito

I got through what poke check is saying and if you can I get what he's saying. I think he cares a lot...in his own way. Anyway it prompted me to go update that post I did about a year ago. I found the original post here: https://board.uscho.com/showthread....A-Gutt-Check&p=6583305&highlight=#post6583305

I'll stand by what I said then and it's the numbers don't paint a good picture. You can frame any numbers the way you want but 9 years is a pretty good sample size to see that in a performance-based industry Kevin Sneddon has little reason to continue on as the head coach. It's just time for someone new. Every other program except BC has changed coaches in that sample size from 2011 to the standings as of today.

I put in UConn with a * next to them because they don't really reflect the full sample size since they've only been in HEA for 5 years.

Re: UVM 2018-19: This is so sad Alex play Esposito

WEll what do you know,,more added recruits! what is this 3 in last 2 weeks? And this one talked up the renovations so we all know the new angle for Sneddon to keep his job...gotta give him time in the new barn! Well last I checked rinks don't put winning teams on the ice...coaches do! Here is the Free press article https://www.burlingtonfreepress.com...ar-old-forward-commits-catamounts/3095693002/

Also two of the seniors not playing because injury is that right? Feel bad for those guys be an empty rink to send them off and a game that means nothing because the games stop meaning anything in january now but this is what we have to say is par for the course or new normal?? unbelieveable and pathetic!

Re: UVM 2018-19: This is so sad Alex play Esposito

I feel bad for them as well.
That group has seen top 10 rankings and bottom 10 rankings in their careers.

Hoping for greener pastures for them and hopefully some Brickley like post UVM seasons!
Go Cats Go! and Thank you Seniors...

Gotta love his size -- 6'3" and 195. Plus, he's got two more years to get bigger and stronger. And he comes from a strong hockey family. Me likey -- this commitment has potential!

So now you’re ****ed because UVM has gotten three recruits, and Sneddon has the gall to use the renovations to help with recruiting. Wow.

You know what i mean sir...of course he would tout renovations to recruit but do we really think that gonna all of sudden make the difference? Sneddon being given too long leash for bad results year after year no arena renovation gonna save fact he's not good at his job but this says to me Schulman still giving the man all the safety in the world. Tell me sir what you see from the ice results and pure coaching stand point do you actually think a renovate GUTT will all sudden bring this team to respect in Hockey east? I do not and am not alonE!
Just another pathetic excuse to keep the man on the job if you ask me

See also: Colgate, RIT. Both programs that got upgrades in facilities but haven't been able to capitalize and have also had the same coach for god-knows-how-long.

EDIT for clarity: I'm not saying the renovations are a bad thing - we should strive to always improve - but rather that they're not a panacea.

Time to start looking at Schulman.

Are we just going to wait out Sneddon's contract for 19-20 or is it time to rip off the bandaid and make a change? Nothing against Sneddon as his first 10 years were fruitful but it is just time for a change and a new direction. 2nd to last is unacceptable in a down year in the league. Clearly the program is suffering both on the ice and in the stands.

If there's nothing in the next few days then it seems like they'll go for the former - most fired coaches either have their contracts run out (Walt Kyle, Matt Thomas) or are fired pretty much right as the season's over

Re: UVM 2018-19: This is so sad Alex play Esposito

Well, our hockey program sucks, but our hoops team is pretty darn good. Congrats Cats, great job, the game vs. UMBC was never in doubt. I feel as a #13 seed, the team could go on a little run and win a couple of games at the big dance. Don't think a team from America East has ever advanced beyond the round of 32. The Cats are solid and could do it. Saw Schulman near the end of the game glad-handing Becker. Instead of giving Sneddon new deals, he needs to lock up Becker for life! Go Cats!

Becker coached a hell of a game today. Lot of the mistakes he made last year he seemed to have learned from. Absolutely fantastic game. Worth pulling an all nighter to be first in line for tickets for ;P
