UVM 2016-2017 Season: Go Cats Go!

Re: UVM 2016-2017 Season: Go Cats Go!

Obviously, 4 points this weekend would certainly help the Cats quest for a top 4 spot. I don't know though, I kind of have a feeling this one's gonna end up as a split. The Cats' play has been very sketchy of late, particularly in goal, and UNH aren't complete patsies. Anyone know if Santa's available this weekend if Lekkas should continue to struggle?

These are must win games for the Cats if they want a top 4 spot. Hopefully they come ready to play this weekend.

and Puffer and Priv....?
Thought they are pretty solid and bring it most every night.

Go Cats Go!

Oh my, this team is going nowhere fast! Maybe the hoops team will make it to the big dance this year....

Re: UVM 2016-2017 Season: Go Cats Go!

We have gone 1-4-1 in the last 6, and have blown leads in 5 of those games. Two of those were two goal leads blown. At this point I am pretty doubtful we will get home ice never mind a bye.
I think it's officially time to hit the panic button on the season.

Feb 10th and Sneddon doesn't have any set lines? I thought constant line mixing was supposed to end at the Pee-Wee level.
Best looked very good-no surprise we haven't seen him much. Another game out-coached.

Re: UVM 2016-2017 Season: Go Cats Go!

I just got back from postgame...and I actually agree with Sneddon on one thing: the team is very panicky right now and trying to do too much, something that wasn't true earlier this season.

Just look at the power play. They tried so hard to get the perfect shot that they wound up getting no shot at all

Same thing every year. By this time of year, all the offensive creativity, aggression and confidence that we saw in the fall
has been "coached" out of the team. I thought this year's team would be different because of the added skill but apparently not. What on earth was the power play last night.

The 5 on 3 was a disaster. Pass it around and then the best they can do is a slap shot directly into the shin guards of a UNH player.

Re: UVM 2016-2017 Season: Go Cats Go!

We have a drop off nearly every season this time of year. My own personal opinion of this is as the season progresses other teams get better, while UVM seems to be stagnant through the season with very little improvement. It seems to me at least, Sneddon et al can recruit good players, they just don't make them better. The team doesn't develop chemistry and doesn't gel. Likely because they never have consistent lines. Unfortunately coach never seems to figure that out. How often did Gilligan switch up St Louis, Perrin, Ruid? He didn't, why because they worked good together, they anticipated each others positions and knew each others capabilities.

Sneddon would do well to learn the lesson that you put together solid lines and then keep them together.
