UVM 2016-2017 Season: Go Cats Go!

Re: UVM 2016-2017 Season: Go Cats Go!

Let's go VT. Tie or win!

And now tied with 3:00 or so to go in 3rd. Thanks VT!

Would love to hear why they allowed the first BC goal, BC player clearly made contact with Lekkas, and why did it take so long to decide and then
talk with the linesmen afterward before making call.

With Providence losing and UML off Vermont gains a point on both. ND is safe now in top 4 but if Vermont can win tomorrow and ND beats Prov again
and the fact that UML plays BC twice next weekend its not impossible.

Obviously Ori is not ready for prime time.

Gotta agree after the first period but also have to cut him some slack in that it is only his second game back from knee surgery. He was way better in the second and in the third he was physical which we don't have a lot of. I am looking for better things from him tonight.

Love this...the color commentators are trying to figure out why UVM has all the lineup changes. Injuries? No...KS. It's incredible.

Re: UVM 2016-2017 Season: Go Cats Go!

First thing great road point versus a good team even thou we really needed 2.

Second those BC announcers are the worst of any team Vermont has played all year. The biggest homers ever.
Every call versus BC was bad and every call versus VT "The refs just had to call" also every fight was Vermont's fault.
A great comedy act they have going.

The Cats need 3 things to happen next week to get home ice & bye

1. Sweep Merrimack - not easy the way Merrimack has been playing but possible.
2. BC sweeps UML - also possible but at best a 1 out of 4 chance of happening.
3. Prov only gets 1 point versus UMass and....yea that isn't happening.

So the real goal should be get 2 points to get top 6 and a home series with UMass or Maine.

Wound up in Bangkok instead of Chestnut Hill this weekend.

A weekend trip to Tie-land is not that bad, all honesty, even though we could've used a W. Still 17th in PWR though SIGH

Agree finishing top 4 is gonna be an uphill climb, but not sure your #3 is correct. The Cats currently have 22 points and PC is one better with 23. If the Cats sweep Merrimack, they finish with 26 points. If PC splits with UMass, they get 2 points on the weekend for a total of 25, one behind the Cats.

I had them at 25 points my bad. So now if Umass can get only one tie and Vermont sweeps then they both will have 26 points and Vermont wins on the third
tiebreaker, as they will have split games with Prov and both would have 11 wins making Vermont's 0-0-2 record with BC better than Prov 0-2-0. Assuming BC
sweeps UML which has to happen for us to pass UML otherwise this doesnt matter.

I noticed the MC v UVM womens game was streamed for free on the UVM athletics website. Do they do that for mens games too?

Yup.

Speaking of the women's game, props to your goalie on Saturday. Probably the best goaltending performance I've seen at the Gutt since...well the last time your men's team was here when Tirronen had that 48 save (or something like that) shutout

Re: UVM 2016-2017 Season: Go Cats Go!

Some interesting stats on the D.
Team won/lost/tie records when they are in the lineup and not:
Hamilton 17-10-5 Played all games
Muscoby 12-6-3 7-3-3
Abramson 9-3-4 8-7-1
Phillips 13-8-4 4-2-1
Lee 7-6-2 10-4-3
O'Donnell 16-10-4 1-0-1
Massie 12-7-4 5-3-1
Moriarty 10-7-2 7-3-3

Abramson has played 16 games and UVM has only lost 3 times when he is in the lineup. Barely .500 when he is not.
The numbers for Moriarty and Lee are not so good.
