Utica University 2024-25 - Retooled and Reloaded

It's sad the most shit talking you can actually do is for a tie...especially when your team has lost to bad teams this season 🤣
Bad teams in the west are much better than bad teams in the east. Didn't MSOE win a Florida tournament against eastern teams?

Current NPI rank for Chatham? 51. Lowest current NPI rank for opponents who've beaten SNC? 38. That's right, SNC's worst loss was against an above average team by NPI (one spot behind Albertus Magnus, the team who beat Hobart). Saying SNC has lost to bad teams this year is not only deceptive, it's just not true.

I agree.

SNC's SOS speaks for itself.

Lowest NPI rank for opponents who have beaten Utica is 10

Chatham was at 51 last time I checked, but if you're not including shootout losses I agree; I was simply pointing out how incorrect of a statement that SNC has lost to "bad teams" this season is.

I mean you've lost to a .500 Stout, and an under .500 Concordia

And looking at it comparatively to Utica, which was and still is the context of this thread, I am right

And back to our regularly scheduled programming, great effort from the boys tonight, Piros looked solid in net and the two goals in the first 1:43 was all we really needed

Hopefully this translates to tomorrow, a win in regulation clinches the regular season title and home ice

Utica and Chatham was a tie by NCAA standards. St Norbert had lost to worse teams than Utica. That’s all I am simply pointing out

It's disingenuous to call above average teams "bad". Going purely on record is also deceptive because of SOS... Stout is 27/87 in NPI. Teams they should've beaten for sure, but it's not like they're Dubuque, Morrisville, or Brockport.

(Whatever, friends and foes alike...)

Huge win tonight just the same. Utica is in the driver's seat in the UCHC, but, of course, even a Brockport could displace a deserving team from anywhere via the asinine conference tournament AQ thing.

So,so, stupid.

Not so fast on that driver's seat thing.

Utica seemingly has the tougher opponent next weekend; but Naz. will want to send George Roll off with an upset win over rival Geneseo.

Turnabout was fair play last night. I actually expected a split; these two teams are mirror-images in many respects.

My money is on both UU and Genny to garner berths, but you never know if a hot goalie in the tournament will throw a wrench in the gears.

Utica and Geneseo will both get into the tournament regardless. But home ice if they win next weekend is a plus
The difference between being #4 and #5 in the NPI is the difference between potentially hosting two NCAA tournament games instead of one, everything is still to play for
