Utica couldn't settle the matter on the ice, AGAIN. Yet, their head coach is ready to point the finger if his team, that couldn't get out of it's own conference's semifinal is excluded from the tournament to decide the best team in the nation. Sounds like a weird culture up there...

I caught it... but it's a bit taken out of context.

From my angle, he was really talking about how it wouldnt surprise him if the manhattanville loss screwed them.

Oh, but they did, the weekend before last... I'll never understand the infatuation people have with one-and-done, just-for-show PS tournaments.

You remember correctly... He'd probably have a head D-1 job by now, if he'd been more PC with the Times-Union.

I haven't been his biggest fan myself, but I'll give him credit for his complete disdain of fanny-smootching.

Who needs an NCAA tournament then? We should have decided the national champion after the regular season...

Precisely! But ONLY when Utica is ranked #1. When they're not, you need to hold the tournament. :D

In January the UC posters complained about the USCHO rankings. Have you noticed...it has stopped. (Since the "real and only one that counts" ranking has been out. The only people "ranting and raving" now are the Platty and Ozz fans. It's D3, I love it here but "some" of the fans are just like their "selection comm". I find it very amusing.

NYSPHSAA ANNOUNCES TIME CHANGES TO ICE HOCKEY STATE TOURNAMENT GAMES



LATHAM – The New York State Public High School Athletic Association has announced a schedule change for the 2013 NYSPHSAA Ice Hockey State Tournament at Utica Memorial Auditorium (Section III) on March 9-10.



Due to the potential of Utica College’s hockey team playing a home game Saturday night, March 9th at the Aud, the Association has adjusted all of its state semifinal games.



Below is the revised schedule for the tournament:



Saturday, March 9, 2013

Division 2 SEMIFINALS – 9:30 am (previously 10 am)

Division 2 SEMIFINALS – 12 noon (previously 12:30 pm)

Division 1 SEMIFINALS – 2:30 pm (previously 3:15 pm)

Division 1 SEMIFINALS – 5 pm (previously 5:45 pm)

I take that as very positive for UC's chances of a game home that night !! Ice will prob be bad after four games though.

Check out bracketology on other site....says UC is a lock. Would play Wentworth in the Aud. Semi's against Ozz in Placid !
