National News had a story this morning about two high school hockey teams in Ohio being crowned Co-Champions after playing 7 overtimes. Coaches and school officials decided to call it a draw for safety and health reasons involving the players. Things might have been interesting if this had happened Saturday at the Aud.

NJ crowned co champs yesterday in their private division. NYS plays 4(?) 5 minute overtimes before going to shots.

EC "won" the conference on the basis of one game, is that really what you think..?
Elmira took home a meaningless trophy, and was still relegated to calling for tee-times on Monday alongside Utica.
The conference tournaments are gimmicks, just ask any Platty or Trinity fan.

I know, then I would've been even more mad an underqualified team like Norwich was chosen over Plattsburgh. By the way, word has it the only reason for that was the committee didn't want 3 SUNYAC teams. Guess they finally read the data comparison.

While you still cling to some delusional belief that the conference championship is meaningless, those of us who understand and follow hockey understand that it is the culmination of a season as a whole. The reflection of what was achieved at the end of the race. Does it reflect the team with the most talent? Nope Does it reflect the team with the best coach? Nope. Does it reflect the team with the most lucky bounces? Nope. Does it reflect the team with the fewest bad calls? Nope. Does it reflect the team with the fewest injuries? Nope. Does it reflect the team with the aggregate chemistry - the teamwork to make it happen? Yes - And that is why it is so meaningful - the best team at capitalizing on their opportunities is the team that deserves the crown.

Thank God there were not 3 teams from the SUNYAC. This forum has finally quieted down since ECAC West is not the strongest league in DIV III hockey

Winning Percentage, H2H and COP should beat SOS, RNK & L25 every single time......unless you're Norwich of course !! Like I said before, nobody has any problem admitting when Norwich has a better team than Plattsburgh. It's happened many times. This season was not one of those in any way, shape or form.

I'll agree with you that Norwich stole this one, but save it for the "my team got screwed" thread

Plain and simple, Plattsburgh did not beat Oswego in their own barn twice when they needed to. They didn't beat Williams. They split with Genny. It's sad that a team with that much talent didn't make the NCAAs, but Coach Emery always says, "hard work beats talent." Bellyaching about how much you think Norwich is worse than Plattsburgh is getting kind of old. There is always one or two teams each year that are on the bubble and don't make it. Their fans complain for a day or two (most of them) and then it's done. As a Plattsburgh fan, I am disappointed that this talented team relied on just that toward the end of the year and didn't provide the leadership needed to prevail. But, I'm over it and hoping that next year, they will learn from this and step up.
I'm all about people expressing their opinions. However, continuing to trash other schools who were fortunate enough to make the tournament makes you and our fan base look like sour grapes. I'm sure the committee didn't purposely look at each other in the smoke filled room and say, "It would be a travesty to have 3 SUNYAC teams in the NCAA tournament, so lets screw Plattsburgh out of a bid."

But PSU didn't win win%. Games vs DII schools, and out of region opponents (Superior) aren't calculated. That makes NU 16-4-2 or .7727 and PSU as 18-5-2 or .7600.

I was joking with ya (#721) I dont think you are bashing or have bad conduct. I also thought PSU would be in over NU at that time if NU didnt win ecac.
