yea I hear ya, but we all know this system is not the best,Trinity will get a top team sooner or later and we will see what happens, they do seem to have a ton of scoring, after that I am not to sure??

Trinity is pretty much a one line team from what I can tell. Granted it is a pretty good line really good line and they have a really good power play but most of that has come against a pretty weak NESCAC. I may be wrong but I don't know that they have the defense or the scoring depth to make a serious run at a national title.

And prediction for Pool B with a Utica win or loss

Win % - WStP
SOS - WSt P
COP - Utica (vs. Stout)
Ranked - Easily WStP
H2H - Nil
Last 25% - Utica with 6-1 or 5-2

WStP wins 3-2 errr - but the 2nd loss in criteria is the dreaded last 25%... Adrian vs. WStP and find the same scenario of 3-2 WStP - but losing the last 25% to the opponent puts them at #4 in the west region behind Adrian....

Win or lose - with consistency with the model from the last 3 weeks ...... the NC$$ says yes to Utica!!!!

Consistency is a LOT to ask for from the NC$$. In my experience, the only consistent thing has been inconsistency.

Well, here we go....Massena and Fairport are tied after three in a NYSPHSAA D1 game at the Aud. Heading to OT....That 8:30 star may be even later!!

With 2 more games after this one you may be right. Next game is suppose to start at 2:30 and the last at 5:00. Going to be close.

Massena won it with 3:40 left in OT, so it wasn't too bad...Start of next game may run 10 minutes late.

That's the nice thing about owning your own rink, not having to "share" ice time.. and being "second fiddle"

Just got back into town in time to see the game. It was a barn-burner, despite the lopsided final.... (Same old story: UC just could not finish its many scoring chances.)

I ran the numbers (such as they are) earlier today, and it seemed to me that Utica might get some serious consideration with a win, as long as Genny followed suit and Trinity won-out... 0-for-3 on that one. With OSU in for sure and Trinity available for Pool C, there's no way that UC gets a bid, and they shouldn't.

Not an awful year at all, but with the team looking so loaded on paper, this season felt like a badly-missed opportunity.

I really did think that this year was going to be one that cemented a short-term dynasty. It perplexes me that UC could bring nearly everyone back from last year's excellent team, and end-up as an also-ran this season... (That's hockey, I suppose.)

Just checked out the NCAA selections, and I have no gripes aside from the usual couple of unworthy AQs. I'll be rooting for Genny, and might even go to Lewiston to see the FF, if they make it that far.

(PS: I wonder where Chumps went on this topic, all of a sudden? :p)

Hmmm... Nice call Fishman, however I wouldn't sit around waiting for apologies. It will likely be quiet in here going forward. You know what they say about karma...

Anyhow, no doubt UC under achieved this year with the 'Bust' cemented last night but the team can at least claim their second straight regular season title.

Is it November yet?? :rolleyes:

Thanks for taking the time; I'd forgotten about about those silly posts, but it was amusing to see them again.

Having said that, next season looks to one of pure mediocrity from Utica, unless Heenan and company bring-in maybe 13 ringers.

I don't see that happening, and I expect a .500 season next year, at best. (Still going to buy my season tickets, though.)

What did finishing first in the standings get you? Nope, no banner, unless the Vollege had one made up again. Oh, home ice through playoffs, we saw how much that meant. Yet smother fine example that finishing in first means nothing, only home ice through playoffs.
