Shabby, I only come here on very slow nights after working late... It's not like reading Chumps' drunken posts are going to enrich my life.
She's just got her panties in a bunch trying to make a case for her Cards to get in, despite them being #20 in The Krach, and nowhere near a legitimate Pool C bid in any reasonable sense. (Yes, I know that's there's not a lot of "reason" involved in the D-3 process, but still...)
The PW she loves so much *almost* works in D-1, but is a complete disaster in D-3, because of the utter dearth of usefully comparative stats in the latter case. (That RNK stat is especially stupid; it's just like the TUC metric that D-1 finally sh-canned last year.)
Anyway, I'm taking some time off from work to see Utica tomorrow, but even if they win that game and the next (both ECAC-W "titles") Point should still get the Pool B bid, no question about it...
This is all about having a functional brain, and not just endorsing the D-3 BS, as though it involves any logic. If Point is left behind in Pool C, there's something very very wrong with that... Point has a much better resume than does Platty, as do a number of Western teams.
(And I don't say that because PSU is "her" team; she just needs to get a grip on reality.)

Indeed UC got the result they needed in the WIAC to keep the door to the smoke filled room ever so slightly open for pool b.
It's still a longshot but if the Pioneers can handily win the W tourney it would give cause to a smokier room.

I can't see that happening; can you?
Point has had a much better season IMO. UC will be in the ballpark if they win-out, but I don't see them getting a Pool B bid over Point.

Probably not but who knows? The committee has surprised before and I'd certainly like to see UC potentially make it hard on them.

Great game this afternoon. Both teams came ready to play. Scola and Therrien were flawless. I seriously thought the game could go multiple OTs. The diving bat-away save by Therrien during the M'ville last minute onslaught was amazing. Hobaica's goal was just hard work splitting the D and flipping five hole.
Looking forward to another game in the Aud next weekend.

Like you, I expected the game to go deep into OT... I was very happy that I was able to see the entire contest, and still make it to work on time.
I still don't think that UC -and, by association, the W as a whole- has done enough OOC damage to warrant a bid, but ya never know in D-3...
Still, even if Utica beats EC next week and tees it up after that one, I won't gripe. This season hasn't met expectations, but it hasn't been a bad one, by any means.

(The RS sellouts are largely due to blocks of corporate season-ticket seats, many of which are empty on any given night.)
The crowd today was composed of committed fans, and therefore the atmosphere was great. The fans in my section were on their feet for the last couple of minutes of the game, and I've never seen that before at The Aud in my 13-14 years of having never missed more than a game or two there.... It was LOUD.
PS: M'ville skated their hearts out, played a clean game, and deserve congratulations on a stellar effort. Very well-coached team; they were out-skated at times, but made very few errors. That game could have easily gone either way.

Same deal as last year.
I say, drop the puck at 9:30 or 10, and resurface at least three times before that. The Bowdoin game last year was played on slush, and it was ugly.

If they play it on Sunday night instead of Saturday the ice will be fine. Only 2 games on Sunday and I think the 2nd one starts around 3:00. With the improvements that the Comets have made to the ice making plant, I see no reason that it won't be in great shape for the game. There's also no reason they couldn't start at 8:00/8:30. High school games have 15 minuet periods and even with overtimes they would be done by 6:00 at the latest. If I recall, they play 4-5 min. overtimes followed by a shootout. If it's Saturday, that's a different story. Great game by both teams and a pure pleasure to watch as a hockey fan. Nice to see the home town boy get the game winner. Just pure hard work and it paid off. On to the next one, which should be a real barn burner.

Unfortunately for the ECAC West this year, the selection committee may be watching this game while they are making their decisions... or even after the decisions are made.I’m not sure what day or what time the selection committee has their conference call this year. Typically they have it Sunday night after the last game has been played. I would think a game starting @ 8:00 PM and possibly going late because of OT’s might be frowned on.

EC's website says Saturday at 830pm but I don't know if this is official?
