Speaking of which, the ECAC-West semi’s are scheduled to occur on March 1st, and I see that the Aud is booked that night at 7:00pm for “CNY Battleground 3”. If Utica cannot host, will the semi be held at the lower seed’s house? The next weekend (March 8th) is booked with the NY State High School Hockey State Championship D-1 Semi’s, but it looks like those games are slated for 10:00am and 12:30pm, so a 7:00pm ECAC-West Championship game should be good-to-go (assuming Utica is the highest remaining seed, of course!).No matter what happens this weekend Utica and Elmira will be the 1 & 2 seeds (order to be determined this weekend) and will host a playoff game. The past two years, however, both teams hosting a semi-final game lost their games and the number 3 seed (Hobart in '12 and Neumann in '13) ended up winning the tournament. Will history repeat?

However, hosting a semi game on March 1st could certainly be a problem with the scheduling conflict. Maybe instead of going to the lower seed's ice, a double-header could be held in the Domes, offering-up a neutral ice option (I know, wishful thinking... right??). On second thought, scratch that... chances are that our Ladies will be hosting a quarterfinal game that day as well, so the dance card will be quite full in the Domes on March 1st!
And, just to throw some facts into the discussion (shame on me!!)... the following is taken from the 2012 ECAC DIII Hockey By-Laws, under section 9.3 titled "Championship Sites":
The top-seeded team will be given first consideration for hosting the
semifinals and championship. However, the directors of athletics will
consider all four remaining seeds in accordance with the following
factors:
1. Overall availability and condition of facilities
2. Minimizing travel costs to competing teams;
3. An institution’s ability to comply with “official agency” requests;
and
4. Potential to generate income.
Stay tuned...
The more I read from your posts, the more I realize you have no idea what you're talking about ! Plattsburgh is in fine shape for a Pool C and certainly doesn't "need the gift AQ just to qualify". They win virtually all comparisons with Eastern teams and all but SNC & Adrian out west. I don't think you understand the process of selecting Pool B or Pool C teams. Your outrageous views are growing old. Just stop telling us all how bad our teams are and take a little break from the boards.
Try you might learn something. Plattsburgh wins common opponents over UWEC, UWSP, STOUT AND UWRF in the West. Babson, Norwich and UMB in the East. Plattsburgh is tied for 3rd in win %. Head to head with Norwich as well. SOS is not accurate on the KRACH for another.
Oh wrong again Mr. Fishman: http://www.uscho.com/box/mens-hockey/2013/11/29/wisconsin-superior-vs-plattsburgh/
Also, Adrian...SNC....more than likely one gets AQ and one gets C....that leaves two more C bids.
Blah blah blah, as per usual from you... The overall stats are not there for Platty right now, in a national sense.

Plattsburgh will be in the NCAAs. If you can't figure out why by now, just stick with D-1 and your Black Bears.
Thank you NorthernBlight, maybe he'll listen to you. I'm learning to not take Rowdy Roddy Piper seriously. How can you? He is NEVER right !!
Get real.
WI-Superior is a tail-dragger in that conference; why even bring them up? They will very likely have nothing to do with the selection process, unlike SNC and Adrian.
Blah blah blah, as per usual from you... The overall stats are not there for Platty right now, in a national sense. Once the Eastern AQ's are gifted, you'd better hope that your team has been gotten one, or they'll be staying home, clearly.
Figure it out, already.
CAN you ever admit when you are wrong?.. You said Adrian was the only team to come east and play.....they were not,,,plain and simple. Superior came east, played and lost.

They lost to Platty...but beat Norwich the next day in the consolation game.

Possibly suffers from PTLMS - (Post Traumatic Lunch Money Stolen)
You are correct, the only point I was trying to make to Fishman was that Adrian is NOT the only western team to play in the east this season. There were also other east/west matchups.
