Utica College Pioneers '13-'14 = Lewiston or Bust

Re: Utica College Pioneers '13-'14 = Lewiston or Bust

"If" Utica runs the table.....they still won't get any pool C consideration, period. Unless Plattsburgh, Norwich, Babson, Colby, Trinity, New England College, Williams, Geneseo, Oswego, Mass-Boston all lose out....I may have missed a couple more teams!

Furthermore, stop insinuating there are no good teams in the East. Plattsburgh, Trinity and Babson have virtually the same record as last year's Utica team. We never heard the end of how good they were ! Why the double standard? Just because Utica has disappointed nobody else is any good?

I'm not insinuating that there are no good Eastern teams, I'm just noting that the current KRACH has none in the top 13.

(And, yes, I meant to refer to "Pool B"; I seriously doubt that anyone from the East has a shot at Pool C right now.)

You had a stronger case with Pool C, you're not going to beat out UWSP or UWEC

Re: Utica College Pioneers '13-'14 = Lewiston or Bust

There are 2 numbers that will probably keep Utica out of the playoffs 5 and 4, they simply lost to many and tied to many. No fancy metric needed. If some of those teams above them drop a couple to close out they might have a chance if not as the old Brooklyn Dodgers said there is always next year, and hopefully if they keep playing like they have there will at least be a ECAC west regular season and Post-Season championship for a consolation prize.

Re: Utica College Pioneers '13-'14 = Lewiston or Bust

Unless Superior and Stout win out the rest of the year, I can not see the pool B at risk of going anywhere except to the WIAC with the strength of their top three

That has to be the goal....to win out, be regular season champions, get home ice throughout the tourney, and finish the year with a W. And, it's a good one as it would be the first ECAC-West tournament championship in club history.

Hate to agree with you, but I think you're right... The West is so strong this year that I think they're going to get the benefit of the doubt whenever there's a close call regarding which teams to grant an open berth.

(By the same token, "your" Cards probably need to win the SUNYAC tournament, or they'll end-up competing for early tee-times with Utica.)

No they beat all Pool C contenders except SNC and Adrian. Wins over UWS, Castleton, Norwich and Skidmore are huge.

Re: Utica College Pioneers '13-'14 = Lewiston or Bust

If they were such "huge" wins, why isn't that reflected in any objective ranking? None of the teams you reference are contenders, on the basis of the stats.

I definitely like SNC vs. Platty for Pool C right now, no doubt about it.

common opponents. .....

fyi the DII/III KRACH is more accurate

Re: Utica College Pioneers '13-'14 = Lewiston or Bust

Not going to look it up, but the CO data is very sparse. (As in: only Adrian from the West has played out here, and against some mediocre SUNYAC teams, and they have beaten them all; Platty will not win that comparision.)

That's not gonna get "you" a Pool-C, IMO; Plattsburgh is going to need the gift-AQ just to qualify right now, and both Adrian and SNC have better objective credentials.

Try you might learn something. Plattsburgh wins common opponents over UWEC, UWSP, STOUT AND UWRF in the West. Babson, Norwich and UMB in the East. Plattsburgh is tied for 3rd in win %. Head to head with Norwich as well. SOS is not accurate on the KRACH for another.

Re: Utica College Pioneers '13-'14 = Lewiston or Bust

The more I read from your posts, the more I realize you have no idea what you're talking about ! Plattsburgh is in fine shape for a Pool C and certainly doesn't "need the gift AQ just to qualify". They win virtually all comparisons with Eastern teams and all but SNC & Adrian out west. I don't think you understand the process of selecting Pool B or Pool C teams. Your outrageous views are growing old. Just stop telling us all how bad our teams are and take a little break from the boards.

Re: Utica College Pioneers '13-'14 = Lewiston or Bust

No matter what happens this weekend Utica and Elmira will be the 1 & 2 seeds (order to be determined this weekend) and will host a playoff game. The past two years, however, both teams hosting a semi-final game lost their games and the number 3 seed (Hobart in '12 and Neumann in '13) ended up winning the tournament. Will history repeat?

Oh wrong again Mr. Fishman: http://www.uscho.com/box/mens-hockey/2013/11/29/wisconsin-superior-vs-plattsburgh/

Also, Adrian...SNC....more than likely one gets AQ and one gets C....that leaves two more C bids.
