Not a chance. My rants normally defend a statement with facts, make sense, and support my arguement. Fish....not so much. Some people get the joke, like you did, and others want to argue it (ala jcase) with little to no hope.

UC seems to be playing to the level of their competition this year which does makes games entertaining (9 of the last 10 games diff of 2 goals or less w/ 5 of those games going into OT), but stressful and irritating because they should be playing much better.
Agree that Gaffney was the workhorse last night, should have been 1st star with Nick 2nd, but I knew they wouldn't be because they didn't score. (All 3 goal scorers got the 3 stars BTW). It was also frustrating seeing a lot of others standing around and watching especially when in their own zone.
One would think with all this team speed there'd be more odd man rushes however the team in general doesn't seem to pass very well which kills a lot of those opportunities.
Hope they can keep plugging and at least win the W, regular and post season.

Yeah, I agree: I just don't understand why UC has regressed since last year, while having every important player back, and all the wheels.
I don't usually see a lack of effort on the attack, but Utica is passive in their D-zone too frequently, as though the plan is to just let Nicky make the save and get a change... There is generally nobody at UC's blue-line looking to stand an opponent up, let alone anyone hounding the puck in the neutral zone, and break-ins as a rule have been far too easy for the opposition all season long. If this team employed a trap, it would score a ton of transition goals, IMO.
Having said all that, things looked a little better tonight. UC was inches away from 4-5 more goals, and took the game over in the 3rd. (I'm liking this Boby kid: he plays an efficient game. Additionally, Idowu was OK for a change, and Bushinski didn't dress after taking three penalties last night... All good.)
Utica probably needs too much help to reasonably hope to leap-frog all the teams ahead of them, but that might happen, if they win-out.

Yes, all around better last night but still to close for comfort given the nearly double shot advantage. They played solid hockey for 60 minutes, hit more often and better than I'd seen since the U-18 game. I liked the line combos Heenan had out there last night too. Was glad to see Gaff get the ENG, after his work this weekend he earned it.

Utica controls their own destiny from here on out -which should make for a fun watch- but it's hard to imagine that they can make up enough ground to be considered for a Pool C. The metrics don't favor that possibility right now.
Right now, there isn't a single team in the East that would qualify via the KRACH, and Babson/Trinity would be the first teams to get a look out here... A really weird season.
