Norm, my old cement-headed buddy, I'm in no mood to continue in this ridiculous vein... I spent all day skiing on fresh powder, had a great rack of lamb and a couple of Grey Goose/seltzers in a nice restaurant afterward, topped-off the evening with a score of my own, and so I am OK with the world... (Even in that curious little nook of it in which you reside).
You have a good night, and congratulations on your racking-up all those W's for Platty over the years! (Are they going to hang a banner with your name on it?)

UC will be the favorite in all their remaining games (v. M'ville, NC and Naz) while EC and Hobart will have to slug it out in three H2H contests... Ergo, Utica has the better shot to run the table than either HC or EC, IMO.
Still, the W is going to need considerable help to get a team into the NCAAs, but that's a distinct possibility, considering how bunched-up the East is in a statistical sense.
(Really looking forward to this weekend's games... All the players I've talked to over the years just hate Manhattanville.

I would hope they could win out because a ECAC west regular season title and hopefully if things work out an ECAC west post-season championship might be the only things that soften the blow of not making it back to the big dance.
If only the West could get over that last membership number hurdle and grab an auto-bid then these types of league down years would not be so stressful

I think once SUNY Canton decides on a conference it might happen - if not Canton then maybe Brian Grady's old school Morrisville.

Stress is good, if it makes a team play better...
Auto-bids by their very nature are unfair gifts, because there's no telling how good or bad a conference will be in any given year, and whether any of the teams therein actually deserve a automatic berth... And even if the W gets the requisite number of teams on-board in the future, its bid will go to whichever team wins the PS tournament, and not to the statically-best team in that conference over the course of an entire season. (That's bad math.)
I'd love to see any reasonable objective standard employed in selecting the NCAA field. The PW wouldn't be my choice, because there are way too few meaningful comparisons to be made in D-3, but I'd settle for the KRACH or even RPI alone, sorted and allotted by region.
Utica is still clinging to life re: getting a bid, IMO, but they probably must win-out to have a shot at one.

Neumann always plays UC tough, and Dawes coaches a "physical" style, which is not Utica's forte.
Nicky was absolutely stellar in goal, Gaffney looked like the best player on the ice and Idowu's game was another comedy of errors. (He appears to have the tools, but his decision-making skills are shockingly lacking.)
Not convinced whether the Knights are better than their record indicates, or if Utica is just continuing to under-achieve. It doesn't look to me that UC can make the run they need to make to squeak-into the NCAAs, but another win tomorrow night will get them that much closer.

I thought Gaffney was the best Utica player in the Pathfinder tournament as well. He was the only Pioneer that brought it every shift all weekend. If everyone on Utica played with the effort at both ends he does we would not be debating their tournament worthiness.

One season does not break a trend. Of their 67 non conference games since 08/09 Utica has only played 20% of those games as actual Away games. When Utica can pull a few seasons of close to 50%....40%...heck 30% the joke might start to go away. Until then the jokes on you....
