Olivieri has left the team for personal reasons.... And is now at Nazareth. Unless Jide is healthy, we're in a substantial bind right now.

We're looking at

Slowikowski-Zappia
Kirisits-Baird
Walker.

Charest and Malvasi are our two emergency defensive options. I think it's going to be Steve on size and physicality alone.

That sucks for UC... Moving on, curious what's up with Hanth? He played 3 games early and not since.

Wow! I really like the way that kid plays, and that is a tough loss for Utica. Good luck to him

Unless his status changes drastically, consider him on IR for the rest of the season.

Also, the sixth D tonight is Hertz.

Graff and Hobaica are both scratches tonight.

I may have missed it but I personally never saw Hertz on the point.
Gary's obviously rested some horses tonight in anticipation of tomorrow's game. With 57 shots tonight he didn't miss them.

Some of that was psychological. He didn't like how Graff and Hobaica performed. Hertz was supposed to join them until this olivieri mess happened. So they sat. Hertz was out there at the point a lot, actually, and IMO he played well for being thrown into that position. The impact on the offense was apparent.

IMO UC really missed Morton last night. The two misplays by Zelzer and Slow that turned into easy goals would up being the difference. Can't make those mistakes vs. a top 10 team. Kudos to the Lakers, they played very disciplined hockey. They stayed out of the box and didn't give UC any chances to get back into the game.

Hertz played well enough on D but him playing there strips them of a front line forward. I'll bet Olivieri gets no love when Naz comes into the Aud on Valentine's Day.

I don't think that Donny's leaving is a devastating loss by any means, but that's not to imply that he wasn't a good player for UC... He was.

I agree that Charest has the skill-set to walk into that job, as long as he recognizes that he's not being asked to score goals right now.

Ya know, 10-3-2 is not an awful record at all, but I really expected more from Utica this year.

This team plays hard most of the time, but the expected results aren't there right now, especially after going 0-1-1 vs. Oswego. (I blame the Jumbo-Trons and the Kiss-Cam.)

So....no one knows yet exactly why Oliveri left? Just "personal reasons"?
