USCHO Women's Hockey Posters Poll

Re: USCHO Women's Hockey Posters Poll -- WEEK I

Re: USCHO Women's Hockey Posters Poll -- WEEK I

Here you go folks, the results of the very first ever USCHO Women's Hockey Poster Poll:

Votes Team (First Place Votes), Vote Range
1. 162 Minnesota (11), 1-4
2. 151 Clarkson (5), 1-4
3. 136 Boston College (1), 1-5
4. 117 North Dakota, 2-7
5. 93.5 Wisconsin, 2-8
6. 87.5 Cornell, 4-7
7. 66.5 Minnesota-Duluth, 3-NR
8. 48 Harvard, 6-NR
9. 35.5 Boston University, 5-NR
10.15.5 Ohio State

Not sure if this is good or bad, but Nos. 1-8 match my rankings exactly but I had BU and Mercyhurst tied at No. 9.

Re: USCHO Women's Hockey Posters Poll

The third best WCHA team is required to be ranked 9th, it's just the way the system works

What kind of logic is that based on ?. There is no such thing as limits of number of teams from each conf in the top 8 of the polls. Now the pairwise may dictate a certain order, but I'm pretty sure there have been many cases of leagues with 3 or even 4 teams in the top 8 rankings on many occasions. There have also been many occasions with three teams from either the ECAC or the WCHA being in the NCAA tournament.

Re: USCHO Women's Hockey Posters Poll

Nice work, Grant. So the teams that I see that are more than one spot different from the USCHO poll are UND and UMD ranked higher in the forum poll and Cornell and BU are lower. An explanation may be that there is a higher percentage of WCHA voters here than in the USCHO poll.

Could be, though I had UND higher than just about anyone

EDIT: And BU lower, of course :D
