USCHO Poster's Game, 2010- in the house that Yost Built.

Re: USCHO Poster's Game, 2010- in the house that Yost Built.

Maybe someone should lend me some goalie pads, teach me how to stay up right, and let people take some shots at me. A shot is a dollar for cancer research or something? I bet we could make a lot of money with how many people hate on me. :D

Might be easier in MN next year though. :D

Can we change your name to shooter tutor then? :)

Re: USCHO Poster's Game, 2010- in the house that Yost Built.

I was going to register to post on the site, now that I found out about this, I had another reason to register.

Now I'm registered for the game and excited to lace up with some fellow college hockey fans! RedHawkBandMan and myself will be bringing a couple other tag-alongs, I'm looking forward to meeting you all in person and contributing to the discussion around here in the future.

Love and Honor!

Yea I think there might be 5 or 6 miamians playing in the game from who I have talked too.

The more the merrier.

The last thing I want to do is skate for two hours with two lines per team. That sounds like a recipe for death to me.

Re: USCHO Poster's Game, 2010- in the house that Yost Built.

Now we are talking. 24 people right now- including the goalies.

We will, for sure, have too much ice time, and I'll still take drop in's on Saturday. But we at least have two real teams.

One "new" plea- at least one of the registered females would like to see more playing. Again, all skill levels are very, very welcome.

I'll post the ID's of those who are registered on Monday, and hopefully a few more will come out.

Still waiting for ANYONE from RIT. Have one Eagle and one Badger, 5 Redhawks, but zero Tigers.

Still not sure how I'm going to break the teams up, so remember to bring a light and dark jersey, as well as one Team jersey.

Can't wait!!!

And I have to check my equipment tomorrow....

Glad all the redhawk fans registered. Made a big push for them, should be fun...

question, anyone know if we have to wear a facemask or not?

Have to? No, but think about this- you have players with a very wide range of skills. To the point where sticks can fly fairly high. I would recommend wearing one.

Re: USCHO Poster's Game, 2010- in the house that Yost Built.

let me talk it over with the people I'm driving to the game, but I could probably be your second goalie. there, how's that for an RIT participant? :p

GOALIES PLAY FREE

Ok, you are only saving $22, but what the heck.

It would be great if you could make it!!!

oh I decided I'm in. You didn't even have to entice me with FREE. Now, not that I'm very good or anything, but I'll make a few saves.

workin' on getting another guy coming with us to come play too.

Here's the link to registration, I'm going to keep it open up until Saturday morning, since I have to go home to get my stuff anyway:

2010 Posters Game Registration

I forgot to e-mail melmac on some of my notes- so hopefully, she'll be able to be there at 11am to help Mrs Alfa process the registrants. I'm going to stick the cost at $23, but if you want to pay $25, I'll take whatever extra money, and donate it all to a charity of the group's choice. I'm pretty sure that we will be able to pay the ice without me digging into my own pocket. :D

I'll call and confirm with Yost later this week, but the last time I talked to my contact- they are keeping the ice down JUST FOR US! The sheet will be melted on Sunday, April 11.

A reminder to the players and potential players- bring a team jersey and an alternate color, too. The goal is for all of us to represent our team, proudly, at Yost. The alternate goal is to have balanced teams. If it appears that the talent is all on one side, then we will shuffle things up.

But, that being said, the registrants seem to be heavily (state of) Michigan and everyone else. So the tentative plan is Tech, Ferris, MSU, and UM on one team, everyone else on the other. If my count is right, we have 12 players from schools within Michigan, which is darned close to half of 24, right? ;)

This is a social event, not one where your school needs you to win a desparate game of hockey. Fun and meeting other posters is the main focus of this event.

That is far superior to what I was going to offer as far as RIT participant. But, if we need any other off ice help, I can drag the bf along (RIT '01 Alum)

Aren't you going to drag him along anyway? You might as well put him to work.

Got it. :)
This will be so much better than going to class. Even if it is at Yost. ;)

FYI, if anything goes wrong or you would rather have this option, I have a connection that could probably get us the Joe Louis Ice for whatever you were going to pay for Yost. It is up to you but let me know IMMEDIATELY if you want to go that route.

Second, I may NOT be able to play come Saturday. My ankle is in an aircast right now after a floor hockey incident. I am pretty confident that I can be ready by then but there is a chance that I won't be able to.
