Went to see a Steely Dan tribute band ("Hey Nineteen") at the Met in beautiful Pawtucket RI the other night. I'd forgotten what an incredible catalogue of music they had! Fagen and the late Walter Becker were interesting cats (beatnik reference is purposeful).

I'd go see them, they are well known in the Dan world. I can't remember there name but you google Japanese Steely Dan Tribute and I'll bet you find another great tribute band with an accent that isn't from NYC : ) Not the same without Walter but if Steely Dan came near me this summer I'd go

Man, if you're gonna be a SD tribute band you had better be tight.

I can't think of another band whose music requires such exquisite musicianship.
