McGrath flat out has said they would have loved to keep that style, but they needed to make some money to pay the bills.

Floored, their album with Fly, that really launched them, has a lot of their original style on it. But yes, they flat out admitted to making the money grab.

Crossing the Red Sea is one of the greatest albums of all time, but in a week I'll have forgotten their existence again for 4 months.

Ah man....I sorta liked them back in the day, found a new appreciation for them when I was dating a certain woman (ties to a memory, etc), but in all honesty? Nah. IMO, they were good for a certain time and place, but completely forgettable overall.

It's the musicianship. There's just a lot of layers to their music.

The Prince and Ramones songs are each up there with their worst songs. I still like them a little, but far far far from even a mediocre song from them.

For reference: Who Made Who by AC/DC is in that same category.
