The only appropriate response.

I like Steely Dan, too. Not all of it, no way. But enough.

I played a show with Peter Erskine back in college. He had some fun Steely Dan anecdotes. He has never been an official member, but he's played with them quite a bit.

Fun tidbit: His daughter, Maya Erskine, is one of the creators and stars of Pen15. Her character's dad is the drummer for a Steely Dan tribute band.

If he's played with SD he knows his stuff. Only Zappa and Robert Fripp had higher standards.

Edit: holy crap, he played with Weather Report too. He's a virtuoso, and I'm guessing you're no slouch yourself.

Him and Pastorius are a GOAT rhythm section, no doubt.

Also, don't give me too much credit. It was a college jazz band thing. Taking the trombone solo in All Blues with him keeping the time was a thrill, though! His standards are obviously high, and he has a bit of a reputation of being a stereotypical jazz drummer. You know, mean.

I didn't blow it and he said great job. I didn't ask questions. He was not nice to everyone.

The (late, great) Neil Peart!? Matt Cameron (Soundgarden)!?

I meant bandleaders who selected their personnel from studio musicians. Of course there are hundreds of individual talents who are amazing. But I meant band architects.

Well, he's better socialized than Ginger; he didn't assault you.

I wanted to see RATM this summer as i’ve Never seen them live. $384 per ticket at alpine valley and grass “seats” are $69.

Uhm, Jesus, the most i’ve Spent was $120 for Metallica and I thought that was steep.

...**** it, there’s A politically charged band from D.C. who’s sold millions of records who charged $5 per ticket at each show for their entire career. Actions>vacuous lyrics

Like Miss Thundercat, I wanna go see Alanis Morissette and Garbage this summer at Pine Knob, but I'm not paying $100+ to do it (and that's in the back rows). Sheesh.
