King Crimson with a killer version of Bowie's "Heroes" performed very appropriately in Berlin.

40th anniversary. I was 14 when the original came out, so this song has pretty much spanned my entire aesthetically aware life.

The story of how Fripp and Eno created his guitar part using overlaid feedback loops is legendary.

Thai monks and a Bulgarian choir. I wish the latter were a bit longer.

This is a solid vlog about it, and The Professor of Rock also tells the story of "Heroes".

Bowie has to be one of the most humble and unassuming people of his stature that's ever graced us with their greatness. He is sorely missed.

I guess Raw Power got digitally remastered (again) earlier this year, since it's the 50th anniversary year. Listening to it now. I have it on vinyl though, which is still the best medium for old albums.

Pulp -- Common People

Like a dog lying in a corner
They will bite you and never warn you
Look out, they'll tear your insides out
'Cause everybody hates a tourist
Especially one who, who thinks it's all such a laugh
Yeah, and the chip stain's and grease will come out in the bath
You will never understand
How it feels to live your life
With no meaning or control
And with nowhere left to go
You are amazed that they exist
And they burn so bright whilst you can only wonder why

The album, non-single release, version of “Purple Rain” might be the longest outro to a song I’ve ever heard. It adds about 4 minutes to the track.

Till Lindemann, the thin one, not the drag one.

I had thought this was an old story but it looks like it is suddenly in the news.

Come again? This is Till:

Tedeschi Trucks last night. Great show. Trucks gets more different tones out of that beat up Gibson. No guitar techs passing him another guitar, no pedal board on stage floor, just him. Shades of the Allman Brothers except horns and backup singers.Everyone in the band gets a chance to shine.

Come again? This is Till.

Oh, wow, I am wrong, you're right. He has lost a lot of weight, I didn't recognize him.

I really hope the allegations are untrue. He is a low level hero of mine.

Given his politics it seems extremely unlikely, but again... you never really know anything about a public figure.

Was listening to the "Oldies" station and they played Pearl Jam and Alanis Morrissette back to back. No. These weren't even out when I was in college. I'm not old, dammit.
