PBS ran a documentary on them back in late May, Fanny: The Right To Rock. I taped it but haven't gotten around to watching it yet.
Kicking myself in the a*s I didn't watch this earlier. Really good doc. They were out when I was in my late teens to early 20's and I listened to plenty of music back then, but I don't recall hearing anything they did or even hearing of them. I'm gonna do some catching up.

I'd pay to see every single one of these bands again as a headliner.

Death Cab
Flaming Lips
The Killers

all three were spectacular.

North Atlantic Blues festival today, hoping for no rain. But seeing as it has rained more days than not this summer….

Ok one more post. The Killers pulled a guy out of the crowd on his birthday to play a song with them.

not on guitar.
not on bass
not on keyboard

ON FUCKING DRUMS

He stole the show.

I'd kill three SCOTUS justices to see that live.

Check their live events coming up. They don't just carry around giant inflatable pink robots. They have a couple festival performances coming up and wouldn't be shocked to see them repeat that album.

Our closest is Philly.

The thing about F.L. is they have put out 75 albums and they're all completely different, and I hate about half of them. You have NO idea what you will hear. They're like The Fall.

Yoshimi is one of my favorite albums, end-to-end, of all time. It is beautiful, funny, profound, proficient, interesting, and ballsy. It's been in my top 10 since I first discovered them which, sadly, was when they were already 10 years past it.

But I don't want them going backwards for me. They created it; that's enough for me. I recognize they are past it. I'm not.

Yeah I can see that. I just discovered Zaireeka and now I need to figure out how to find a way to play that properly. Who thinks of this shit?

Yellowcard concert on Saturday was awesome. All the openers (This Wild Life, Story of the Year, Mayday Parade) were good, and Yellowcard had a rock solid 90 minute set. While not sold out, floor was at least 3/4ths full with a good mix of Gen X and elder millennials there for nostalgia and then 20-somethings there as well. Was entertaining watching about 30 middle-aged dudes doing a mosh pit from the balcony.

And kudos to Minneapolis for the Armory. They did a brilliant job renovating that into a music venue.

Was wondering about the armory. Was looking at a concert later this year. Crazy prices.

did you have floor? how was that?

Before the renovation, the Armory was a dilapidated building, turned into a parking lot with a partially caved in roof. Amazing work they did to restore it.
