US National Teams: U30s & Mrs. Potter, U22s, U18s Part II

Re: US National Teams: U30s & Mrs. Potter, U22s, U18s Part II

Was wondering about Duggan, Cahow and Thatcher. Very glad to see Lawler back in the mix.

Re: US National Teams: U30s & Mrs. Potter, U22s, U18s Part II

Duggan was never at camp to begin with- was probably unavailable for whatever reason. Sheesh, do your research before jumping to conclusions.

Well Lawler tweeted that Duggan was on her hip last night. I guess I assumed that meant, you know, skating on the same line in the exhibition game. Silly me. Apologies all around. Carry on and relax chief.

Re: US National Teams: U30s & Mrs. Potter, U22s, U18s Part II

During the webcast of last night's game, a statement was made that Duggan was out with a concussion suffered earlier in the season.

Arm, do you know if last night's exhibition is archived...if so, where? Bummer, I did not know there was a live webcast of the game - I watched some men's final four bouncy ball instead and it made me realize how much I missed the college hockey season already.

I watched it at fasthockey.com and it was free last night, but it looks like it would cost about $8 to watch it now on demand. IMO, the caliber of the hockey and the webcast wouldn't be worth $8 unless you have someone on the team. Neither team was as sharp as they'll be in another week or two.

Just don't see how Jen Schoullis, Brook Ammermann, and frankly a couple of other WCHA forwards didn't make this roster when you look at the players picked. If you are the 7th and 4th leading scorers in the country playing a WCHA schedule you are pretty **** good. When will they put political bias aside and pick the best players like Canada does.

Have you found the fasthockey webcasts of terrible quality like I have? Or was my sampling of two just bad luck?

I don't remember watching their product before last night. It wasn't the worst I've seen, but there were some definite problems. The video and audio seemed to be part of two separate productions, so they would show video of interviews between periods, but the audio was unrelated -- seemed to be an open mike picking up the P.A. There were about 15 seconds of picture breakup akin to driving through a tunnel, and the play-by-play guy was obviously totally unfamiliar with the names for both teams and had never taken Hooked on Phonics. But it was free, so it was definitely far better than nothing. At least there were replays, a feature lacking in at least one of the NCAA quarters, and there were more pixels than in some of the others.

Congrats to all the players who have earned a spot on the National Team that will compete in the World Championships.

Geez, never enough for you is it... Well over half the team are either current WCHA players or WCHA Alums. What more do you want. Just looked at the Roster. Pretty impressive to me, and why not just cheer for the team chosen.

I just want to see the best players selected, I am not keeping a count as you seem to be. If the first 22 players selected are from the WCHA and the next strongest player is as well then pick her. Generally the reason for overlooking a statistically stronger player would be that they played a weaker schedule, clearly not the case here. Ammerman and Shoullis should have at least made the camp roster. I would like to see the selection process ignore where the players attend college, but that is clearly not the case and hasn't been for a while.

If I'm not mistaken both Ammerman and Schoullis did make the camp roster, but unfortunately were not selected to the National Team.
