US Junior Team Part II

Re: US Junior Team Part II

Seriously ref, you reffed 55 great minutes and then you let the crowd get to you into making up that penalty.

Agreed. The refs called it pretty consistent until that goalie interference penalty on Palmieri. I'm sorry, but you can't make that call in a gold medal game with 4min left when he was obviously pushed into the goalie.

Weak.

Go USA. Make that arena quiet.

Re: US Junior Team Part II

Not gonna lie. 20 minutes ago I wasn't too worried about whether we won or lost.

20 seconds ago I just said a little prayer to Herb Brooks. I'm sure God doesn't care but I bet Herbie does.

Right there with you.
And there's a difference? ;)

Re: US Junior Team Part II

I would have been OK with the call on the US kid if they also called one on the Canada kid that hit him after the shot. Because that hit was worse.

Meh - didn't look like anything more violent than anything else that goes on after a breakaway shot/save.
I agree that Palmieri had time to avoid the goalie.
At first at regular speed, looked like a brutal call.

Re: US Junior Team Part II

Was he bumped towards the net? Yes. But, it looked to me like he still could have done more to avoid contact with the goalie like that.

Typical USA hockey. Right when I think they are going to do it, something stupid happens.

the canadian player finished the check. if it was on the other skate, the us guy would have skated back to the bench to keep the shift short. (yes, i am really po'd right now.)

game should be over. canada easily could have scored a half dozen times there. dump and change. let canada control the play and fire at will.

Re: US Junior Team Part II

Except he put his elbow up. If he tucked it down I bet they would have let it go.
Gotta agree with Les here. He did nothing to avoid the goalie and gave him a shot when he made contact. If he kept the hands down and tried to avoid the goalie, no call.

It was a easy call and a really dumb penalty.

Re: US Junior Team Part II

Eberle is amazing.... A winner since the Brick tournament. No one better under pressure

Warsofsky and Kristo in ot..

I'm sure that had nothing to do with his main focus being an attempt to score a goal. If he doesn't get shoved, he's nowhere near the goalie.

Re: US Junior Team Part II

Great Hockey Game!!!

Tough blowing a 2 goal lead like that. For Miami player(s) on team has to seem like de je vous! But Canada never had to pull the goalie.

Give Canada credit for playing with desperation. I know they have let much go but thought that was a penalty on Palmieri as he did get the elbow up.

Love the pace and hoping Kreider and Warsofsky are available for Friday when I am at Fenway!

Exactly. I am not all that irritated by the call. It was a little weak with how the game was being called to that point, but there isn't much you can do about it. I am much more upset at how they stopped attacking altogether and put themselves in the situation for the ridiculous crap to happen all over again.
