Maybe we get 30 minutes' notice when the outbounds from Moscow start veering off from Ukraine entirely.

That was my thought too. Don't look for military. Watch the rest of the eastern bloc. I think we'll probably see the presidents flown to Lvyv. That might be trackable.

Yeah. The LAGRs track over inland Europe to rendezvous with the B52s or any other flight. The B52s stayed over water nearly the entire time. One had to track over Spain towards the end. Not sure why.
 
Two Q4 drones out of Sicily today. One had a NATO registration (UAVGH000) and the other was FORTE11 (instead of FORTE12). The NATO drone is off tracking now.
 
Also the thing I've been curious about. What happens to Kaliningrad, the far western segment of russia buried next to Lithuania and Poland?

Edit: Obviously nothing will happen to it, but I haven't seen it even mentioned. It just seems like it is being ignored despite being so isolated from Russia. Anyways, just wondering out loud.

I'm sure at some point Putin demands a Konigsberg corridor.

Necessary strategic stronghold (the Ruhr / Crimea). Reunite ethnic nationals (Sudetenland / Donetsk).

He's very close to having that with his client regime in Belarus. Unfortunately for Pooty, Lithuania and Polska are in the way, are both members of NATO, and both hate Russia far more than any Ukrainian ever will. It would take a very costly war for him to put something like that together.
 
Interesting. A US Army blackhawk is crossing into Ukraine towards Lviv at 135 kts with a callsign of EVAC01.

Actually, now it's slowing down JUST short of the border... COuld be interesting.

Edit: Found a tweet that claims to be listening to civilian tower feed. Says they are "routing to evac location" and "will be routing to hospital south of Rzesz�?????�????�???�??�?�³w-Jasionka"

Edit 2: edit 5; Definitely did not cross.

Edit 3: Listening to ATC they just made contact with the tower again.

They were off radar for 14 minutes had slowed to ~60 kts. Came back on radar at 87 kts at 1500 ft.

Reach 468, likely a tanker RCH468, just started taxiing for takeoff.
An RAF C17 also took off from Lviv a little after the chopper came back onto radar.


EVAC01 just requested an altitude deviation.

Edit 7: More intrigue. A C17 took off from US about 8 or 9 hours ago. Landed at the airport near the hospital. It's now taking off five minutes after it landed.

To add to all of this. There's screencaps of a black SUV coming from the Ukrainian side of the border, four people getting out, and boarding the chopper and the SUV immediately left after they boarded and several minutes before it took off.

Gazprom already drilled and/or mined parts of the Kurils. If you check out the Google Maps sat view, you can see the open pits at the tip of the southernmost one, Urup. The real money is in what might be offshore though, particularly in the Sea of Okhotsk.

Legally, I wonder if Japan's "Self Defense Force" could be used to retake those islands, since Japan likely sees Russia's occupation of them as an invasion of Japanese territory and not spoils they willingly coughed up at the end of WW2.
