But, if they had a rule no Canadian could ever win the Hobey; UND would never have a winner again. eh? He probably knows french too and wishes he was American so he could vote for Obama in 2 years. Just like Dirty.

The only award he is actually trying to win is a National Championship.
Only two Hobey candidates have successfully lead their team into this year's Frozen Four, leading goal scorer and WCHA player of the year Matt Frattin (UND) and Jack Connolly (UMD).
NCAA should choose Frattin and Connolly as finalists because they will be at the Frozen four and also Justin Schultz (Wisconsin) next closest candidate because he could just drive to St. Paul, think of all the airfare money they could save $$$

Viz doesn't need me speaking for her, of course, but I imagine the thinking is along the lines of: "They may be azzholes, but they're our azzholes." Plus, the social standing of anyone zooms into the ionosphere when you factor in Michgan.
Among my many oft repeated annecdotes is the year Michigan played Illinois and Tony Eason in Champaign for the Big Ten title. Mr. Warmth, Bo Schembecler, began whining about the "crowd noise" at Memorial Stadium. Wait, isn't this the team that plays in front of 105K every week in THE BIG HOUSE *shudders*? About once a decade, Illinois has a team that contends for the title, and that schmuck couldn't stand the idea that someone was poaching in territory decreed by God to include only Michigan and Ohio State. Illinois students that year wore buttons reading: NO MO BO.
He was the personification of Michigan arrogance. I would root for a team of Gestapo finger nail pullers over Michigan. Plenty of time to get back to hating the Sioux after the FF.
