Removal of logo

Removal of logo

I have nothing but ill will and fantasies involving the most inhumane torture for the majority of the Board.

I'm sure the political climbers involved are revelling in this their signature accomplishment.

Re: University of North Dakota - Offseason Thread 2010

This decision sucks. Sorry guys. :(

Re: University of North Dakota - Offseason Thread 2010

New name.....How about the "Brave"? That way you will unintentionally get the end of the national anthem right.

And "Brave" could mean anything...Old Yeller, Nemo, Rudolph, Grizzly Adams, Gomer Pyle (it took a lot of guts to join the Marines when you're that dense) Custer, that Chinese guy who climbed up on the tank during the Teinemen Square uprising in China, a Kamakazi pilot, I could go on all night.

Re: University of North Dakota - Offseason Thread 2010

If it is true? The state board of higher education made the decision today. :(

\/ Next thing we find out USCHO will follow suit and have its members ban the logo in thier signature and avatars.

This bites...and I am certainly no Souix fan.

In the end, was it really the standing rock tribal council that held this up?

Re: University of North Dakota - Offseason Thread 2010

It wouldn't have affected the hockey team. It's the football team that would have been affected once they become post season eligible and make the DI FCS playoffs...they would be on the road for the whole thing.

That and the football boosters didn't like the idea of not being able to schedule Minnesota in football for the <strike>easy win</strike> big payday that would come with it...
Yes.

We've been dealing with the PC movement long before it hit Massachusetts. But we can blame BC for this if you'd like. :D

\/ Will the University of North Dakota auction off all the banners? From what has happened in the past many universities change every logo, banner, jersey etc.

IMO, it didn't make a difference who was for or against the logo the state board already had it in thier minds the logo must go. I am certain of it.

Yes and no. They approval resolution by Spirit Lake wasn't good enough according to the settlement since it had to be a legally binding agreement which it was not. Standing Rock not voting on a resolution didn't help matters at all though.

I hear you... I am indifferent to the team but I loved the uniform's and the logo's.. this sucks.

From what I read, the banners can stay, unchanged. Same with the statue out front, as both have "historical significance." The rest has to go.

Re: University of North Dakota - Offseason Thread 2010

Stupid question, maybe.

Is there a way some public referendum can overturn this? What would be the support statewide?

Wasn't there something about not having to remove logos that are "part of the structure," like the giant inlays in the floor?

What has to be done to that arena is downright heartbreaking. Anyone who had a hand in making that happen should be shot.

I believe so yes. Also, everything they have to change, will be changed when it is up for maintenance or when it normally would have been updated/changed. I think they have until 2050 to change out all that.

I'm sure there is a lot of rumor in that, and in everything else that is being said (as far as the changes that will have to be made). We'll find out soon enough exactly what will happen. :(

Re: University of North Dakota - Offseason Thread 2010

We warned you of this PC movement several years ago as it was sweeping through Massachusetts. Very few took us seriously. Look at Massachusetts and see where you are headed next unless you decide to put a stop to the far left before it is too late.

Yeah, the MCLA Mohawks was so violently offensive. F-cking pansies backed down as fast as they could.

This is a goddam shame. Nice to see snobby, elitist professors win again.

Re: University of North Dakota - Offseason Thread 2010

So long story short, are the sioux jerseys going to be sioux jerseys next year or is that for sure being changed before the season starts?
