Nelson's coming in. He has to be.

By my count we'll have 13 forwards, counting Rodwell and Davidson, but not Nelson. 8 defensemen (not counting the walk-on Hill), and 3 goalies. That's 24 on the roster.

Hak has never started the season with fewer than 25 on the roster. And at the forward position he has rarely gone as low as 14 (usually with a back-up plan), and never 13.

He started with 14 last year, but I have to believe he hoped Frattin would rehabilitate himself back onto the team. He started with 14 in '06-07, but that's because he thought Shea Hamilton would be the 15th, and he moved Radke up to forward, essentially giving him 15 forwards. Again the next year he had 15 forwards, including Radke who was still listed as D.

In Hak's first year he had only 14, including Marvin who could play both. But with injuries and what not that year he ended up mixing and matching a bunch of guys in as the 15th forward.

I would prefer to see Nelson come in next year. We're going to lose 4-5 forwards off the team and he would step right in and get some top 3 line playing time. Plus, I think a year of juniors would help him. But I sure don't want to start the season with 13 forwards.

I was thinking the same thing and since he is probably going to be a first round draft choice they might as well get the most out of him before he heads to the NHL/pros.

The Fargo Force posted on their website yesterday that Colten St. Clair will play one more year with Fargo. St. Clair is only 17, but accelerated his education and could have come to campus in the fall. One more year of juniors should greatly benefit the talented forward from Arizona.

UND coach Dave Hakstol recently said that he might be able to have next season's roster finalized either just before or just after the NHL draft. Things are starting to work themselves out right now.

i know it......... but i wasn't surprised at all by DU getting knocked out early in NCAA's, they weren't playing well towards the end, the Sioux though? i was shocked we (BC) didn't meet in the regional final..........

DU was very top heavy scoring wise. All teams really had to do was contain their top line of Rakhshani-Ruegsegger-Colborne.

I think UND is/was quite balanced in that department making it so opposing teams can't concentrate on one single line. Which will be a positive for the Sioux in the 2010-2011 season :)

Congrats to Toews on winning the Cup. I was rooting for Carle but it's great to see an ex-college hockey player, and somebody I used to watch a lot, win it all and be the first to hoist the cup.
