University of Maine Off-season 2024: Insert Pun Here

Just plain wow

cannot shield the puck to save his life
cannot toe drag or spin to get past a defender…(just goes straight forward, hoping to chip the puck between legs or over a stick and it never happened once.)

backchecks as well as anyone, ever, when there’s a fire lit under his a55, but otherwise, not at all and as more than one scout told me this season, nobody has any idea if he has any chemistry at all with anyone besides Josh

good luck, and thanks for a fun season

This is spot on 110%. When the team needed his skill to carry them he didn't have it later in the season. An elite player ready for the next level can carry a team. The big question mark is how good is he going to be without his brother setting him up all the time?

It is a bummer, bot Kuzma and Brad gone. Big hit to the team next year. Need Barr to land some ringers in the portal.

Brad is going to be playing with some combination of Aho, Svechnikov, Necas, and Jarvis. Dude is going to do just fine. Joining a talented organization.

I think Maine has to be a heavier team especially since they are not going to be attracting top end talent any time soon. I think moving on from one of their small right shot dmen is a must especially since neither is a point producing guy from the blue line. My fear is that instead Hopkins and Nobes are gone. Still a lot of time to go but things are not trending well as of this moment.

No. This is all about the money.

Really? Hope it works for him. I know diddly squat about Carolina but I can't imagine him in the big show next year?? One thing for sure, 1st round draft picks rarely hang around long.

As far as this Kuzma thing goes maybe I missed something but theres no evidence he's not coming other than Heisenbergs list? is there?
Its TBD isnt it.

His Maine logo was removed from the Madison Capitols' line sheet for both last night and tonights games, and if you go to their roster and click on him, he's listed as "Uncommitted".

I’m shocked. I wonder if Brad will try to play someplace where he doesn’t get roughed up as much. Both him and Josh took a pounding last year.

It will be interesting where Maine goes from here. Maybe in the long term it will be a good thing but will certainly be tough the next couple of years.

Yeah if he is looking to get roughed up less that won't be in the AHL or NHL

Barr must have told him he wasn't ready or for some reason let him out of the NLI. Makes no sense with bradly leaving

Maybe the person I saw on FB that said he was headed for the QMJHL was onto something...

Like a non-contact old men's league? Everything from here up will involve more contact. Far more - especially for a smaller guy.

It could be that he wanted out. He could have been tampered with and offered a scholarship from another team. He’s playing in Madison, WI so maybe Wisconsin recruited him??? They just took Montgomery, so maybe they lured Kuzma.???

Do you think he's going straight to the NHL? It seems like most around here see him in the AHL (or the Q) for at least a season.

There is no freaking way Brad is going to play in the NHL next year maybe a game or two as a tryout? Even then I'm no scout but I dont see it. He doesn't have enough muscle mass and he is grossly underestimating not playing with his brother going forward unless Carolina signs him too
