University of Maine Off-season 2024: Insert Pun Here

It's hard to see Breen hanging around. Maine might be in the position of replacing 4 of their top 6 forwards, and the veteran presence of Poisson. A forward group that needed minor tweaks, is now in complete rebuild. Tough on the coaches who probably saw size and puck moving on D as the priority. I doubt they saw it coming.

There will be subsequent moves.

Your right...but with the portal to fall back on Maine can somewhat soften the blow, not completely but put in place players that will contribute and stay more then one season(hopefully?)...but that's the landscape now...Coaching/Recruiting has to be on the ball 24/7/365....no more certainties.

Yep. I have a good idea who is behind this and I don't know if this is the right path for them but whatever

Benjamins, and lots of them. https://www.capfriendly.com/players/bradly-nadeau

If he makes the pro team and plays 3 seasons he would have made $3.1M in the same span of the four years at Maine.

Kind of a no-brainer to try. Even if he only plays AHL he would make $540k in that same span of time. Which is $180k a year. No college players make this.

$855,000 a year if he plays for the Hurricanes in 2023-24, 2024-25 and 2025-26. He will receive $82,500 at the American Hockey League (AHL) level for all three seasons.

He was pursued by Carolina because they want to rebuild their farm system. They also signed others. I wish him nothing but the best, Carolina seems to think he will be better off in their farm system then NCAA. Tough to dispute their logic but I dont think he's ready..Bradly is going to face some much more physical competition on the next level and I hope he succeeds. Without his brother it will be extremely different but maybe it's time they were separated but I keep coming back to the Sedin twins. I don't know how good he is going to be without him they have been playing together since they could skate.

Im not completely surprised with all these developments. One thing Ive been thinking on how is it going to turn out - Barr built his reputation on recruiting and helping to coach. Now that he is the head coach 100% focused on the team and the season. Barr isnt recruiting. It sounds like most of the recruiting responsibility went to Soltys. Is he good at it? Dont know yet.
Still work in progress and it will be a bumpy road.
Heck after all these years whats another season or two to wait.

It might not be much to ask Maine fans to wait for another couple years, but that's a tough message for Brazeale, Scott, Freel, Holt and anyone they're trying to recruit from the portal.

I don't think Josh is drafted, is he? Depending on how old he is, he's probably eligible to sign for anyone (CAR included).
