University of Maine Off-season 2024: Insert Pun Here

Something is going down. My reliable source is radio silent..it's like they had to give up some money to get someone else in...buckle up folks.

Do you think we'll know today? And are we talking like Matthew Wood, or a guy like Copponi or Wilike, or another tier down like William Whitelaw from Wisco?

Yeah, they would have been the two best to come in next season. Some other kids could turn out being better but they’re years away.

Montgomery wasn’t coming in next season. He is still going to show up in fall of 2025. He pulled out of his verbal and committed to Wisconsin, where his father was a fullback for the football team.

A much different story with Kuzma, who signed an NLI which means he was coming in this fall and his scholarship was guaranteed. Maybe Kuzma asked to be let out of his NLI because he wanted to go somewhere else.

If that is the case then someone was throwing some major NIL money his way….no offense to Kuzma but I don’t think that he is at the level that would induce that type of NIL $$$ flowing his way…but you never know in these crazy days of collegiate athletics.

I don't know, normally they atleast throw me a bone but all I have been told is there will be more changes. I never expected Wood to be here. My eye is on Copponi if I was a betting man..which I'm not lol

Everyone said portal season would be interesting. Not sure I like losing kusma though. Until one knows what happened....

Well that rumor had been posted on the FB group but considering that the Canes don’t have an AHL team I figured it was just BS. What a gut punch.

Well the entire offseason just turned on a dime today, I had been reasonably satisfied until now and then bam, Kuzma and Brad gone. Has now become a terrible offseason in one fell swoop. They better have Copponi and Wikie lined up, if they had any clue this was coming and still let Kuzma go.

It's been a weird wild weekend.....I imagine this is going to be a crazy week or 2 coming up.

I'm really surprised considering he is nowhere ready.

Just plain wow

cannot shield the puck to save his life
cannot toe drag or spin to get past a defender…(just goes straight forward, hoping to chip the puck between legs or over a stick and it never happened once.)

backchecks as well as anyone, ever, when there’s a fire lit under his a55, but otherwise, not at all and as more than one scout told me this season, nobody has any idea if he has any chemistry at all with anyone besides Josh

good luck, and thanks for a fun season
