  • The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways. Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar. We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.

University of Maine 2024–2025: Freel-ing good

I noticed the formatted table in the recruiting thread no longer works here. Will have to try to see if there is a different syntax needed to make tables here.
Let me check on whether we need to turn something on, or if it's a result of the import from the other server. There's also a table builder in the formatting for posts:

It looks visually nice, and is definitely far faster in terms of post speed. The only thing that I can think of that's bothered me is that I can't find a way to change it so that the new posts are at the top of Page 1, rather than the reverse. I find that much easier to navigate. There must be a way to change it that I just haven't found, right? Anyone know how this would be done?

Apparently it's not built into the software, but someone has written an add-on that might do it. I'll investigate outside of the work day.

Ditto. Please share if y'all figure it out. I will do the same. It may require the admins to implement an add-in. Thanks!

There is a strict protocol that teams have to follow before the game - including only entering the playing area at a certain time for warm-ups and pre-game. They also must make sure the officials are on the ice before they go out (think of the brawl scene in Slap Shot). The kid went on the ice before he was supposed to and before the officials. He was out there for a few laps then went back into the tunnel. I haven't seen anything further, but speculation was that someone opened the door early and he wasn't aware of the rule so he went out. This was a point of emphasis highlighted by Hockey East prior to last season and was noticed by the officials who subsequently called the penalty. I have only seen it called a couple of times. My guess is that he wasn't aware of the rule and went out to calm nerves before his first start. Hard to imagine a worse beginning to his career: called for a penalty before the game even starts and then giving up the only goal of the game on the ensuing power play.
Oof. I'll never lose sleep about BU losing, but I feel for the young man!

Ed, I was looking at a friend's profile and there are "Profile Posts" that appear to be old private messages. One I saw included a phone number that I wouldn't be excited to learn is public if I were that fellow poster.
