University of Maine 2024–2025: Freel-ing good

Scott didn’t slash at all yet goes off for slashing. Guy barreling in on Boija after he’s down covering the puck. Hansen blows.
 
They obviously slowed down after an unreal first, but they didn't turtle and kept attacking, and played well enough to win. Excellent weekend, I think they really showed what they are made of.

Last night reinforced what I said after the Bentley game; if Maine makes the NCAA tournament it will be a **** of an accomplishment. I think a lot of folks here are putting way too much stock in the games against the awful teams.

Not only does Barr have Maine competing, he has Maine contending to win Hockey East in what feels like it could be a golden era for the conference. Not a single team below 27 in the PWR.

Loved the effort as I have all season. Thought Josh nadeau really stood out tonight, the points aren’t coming for him but he’s doing all the little things right.
 
So the NESN broadcast didn’t figure out what play the 5 minute major was for last night. They thought it was something in the scrum that occurred after Maine players were in the goalie’s space after the whistle. I didn’t see anything there to warrant a 5 minute penalty. The player Truman that was penalized wasn’t even on the ice then. Now though, after watching the replay I can see at 14:22 of the first period Truman blindsided Nobes and got an elbow up high which is what the major was. It actually happened at the other end of the ice behind the net behind Boija.

I haven't seen every goalie in the nation, but he's the best I've seen with my own eyes. And he's easily the reason why Maine is where it is right now.

Two goals per game won't get you an NC as a general rule, but if Albin keeps doing what he's been doing, and Maine can find just a little more offense, the FF isn't out of the question.

Boija has been a stud, thats for sure. If Breen can come back maybe those 2 1 games become 3 1 games. Getting Josh going would help also.
